one immediate dramatic consequence of the Hungarian result:

Magyar has promised to repair relations with the EU and unblock a €90bn EU loan for Ukraine

Of my friends and colleagues who were laid off in the last three years, seasoned professionals one and all, not a single person found a new job in under a year. It took me over two. When the market has me favorably looking back on 2009, shit is fucked.

“Oh but Republicans would…”

Lemme stop you right there. I know that Republicans are okay voting for men accused of sexual assault. Republicans are also okay with voting for racists, child rapists, genocidal maniacs, and whatever the fuck pathology is a “Ted Cruz.”

So miss me with that argument.

Some lawyer on tiktok* said you get in way worse trouble for not filling your taxes than you do for not paying them.

Amia Srinivasan’s “Sex as Pedagogical Failure” should be required reading.

Whenever a man in position of authority pursues a subordinate woman, he is changing her trajectory in that space forever. The research on how much even “consensual” affairs hurt the women involved is jaw dropping.

Artemis II was overshadowed by other bad things in the news but what it accomplished was frankly amazing. We are capable of incredible and unprecedented things. I’m in awe at how far we safely sent humans into space.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.

Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

Welcome home, Integrity crew!

Every single one of the astronauts who went to the moon and back on Artemis II was educated at a public school.

Thinking of the teachers who poured into Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen tonight. You helped send a kid to the moon!

Not gonna lie, Mad Max made post apocalyptic society seem much more stylistically avant garde when I was a kid.

Imagine trusting science to bring astronauts to the moon and back but not trusting science to develop safe vaccines.

During the space race we beat everyone to the moon by jumping over it first. #artemisII

Now would be a great time to reconsider that 46% cut to NASA’s science budget for FY2027.

Wish people would stop saying “Trump visited Charlottesville” (or any other locale). He doesn’t visit cities or the people who live in them—he has no interest in either. Today he visited a property he owns which happens to be located *near* Charlottesville, and he attended a fundraiser there.

I have reposted many times and I still mean it when I say that supporting a Black midwife & writer is one of the best things you can do with a few bucks. so let's get those numbers up

one kinda of sanewashing thing the media did repeatedly for Trump over the years is describing him as an "isolationist" or "america first" while knowing trump's actual foreign policy is just a different alliance — not with other nations, but with a network of far-right parties around the world

I’m proposing a bill to preemptively hold AI companies liable for all mass deaths and financial disasters. Just in case.

This is the natural result of liberals completely caving on the reality that asylum is both a moral imperative and not just legal but required under domestic and international law

You’re right.

That might not be enough time to bury the Statue of Liberty and distribute 400 million ape costumes.

ICYMI: Killing innocent civilians is a war crime. Threatening and/or committing genocide is also a war crime. Both are also evil.

NEW: The Board of Immigration Appeals just denied Mahmoud Khalil’s bid to throw out his deportation case.

However, Mahmoud can't be legally detained again until his habeas appeals process is exhausted in federal court. We'll keep defending his right to live in this country and speak freely.
