An ex-serviceman spent his life fighting for his country, now he finds new battles in a society fighting against him. Typical follows the true-life events of Christopher Alder, who finds himself in police custody. Learn more about the play on the Black Plays Archive.

Leave Taking by Winsome Pinnock follows two clashing generations of women in North London. The play was later staged at the National Theatre and directed by Paulette Randall, making the two women the first Black women to both write and direct for the NT.
