The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (2010)
4/22/26
That one scene where Kyon is told to enjoy his time with the Brigade because it'll be gone before he knows it really laid bare everything I valued about the series prior.

I don’t 1cc Touhou games because the storytelling is far less mature and complex if I do so. Bad endings are just the truth of how the world works
I like to think that in the Billy Bat universe, the history of both halves of Square Enix is miraculously unchanged up until Kingdom Hearts where Squall gets to meet Billy Bat
Keeping my eyes on this GoFundMe has had a huge effect on my mental health. I've been really sad seeing it slow to a crawl after a really promising first day. I'm hoping the right person sees it and gives it a push, because I've already run out of other places to advertise it

I feel like FFVIII was inherently fated to become my favorite game by virtue of how much I was interested in bad fan theories as a kid and guess what one of the main things anyone who hasn’t played FFVIII is going to know about it through osmosis is

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Season 2 (2009)
4/21/26
Preferred what Season 1 does through Broadcast Order but still enjoyed it. Endless Eight is so committed to the bit that I can’t help but find it endearing and the Sigh arc bringing the whole thing full circle to the first episode is cute
The Farming of Haruhi Suzumiya, a light novel that hasn’t been animated yet where she gives up her ways of violence and becomes a farmer
Drakengard 1
Dark Gary can take on all four at once. And don’t give me that “post-debate JonTron has better hax” crap, Dark Gary statstomps so badly that Jon is getting speedblitzed before he uses any of his moves, let alone one he only used in one episode and could only fully utilize with prep time

Yeah it should have been official art of El Hermano in there instead
We all have that one oomf who’s watching a college baseball game between two teams from the same prefecture with nothing to do with them but still feels like rooting for the losing team
Endless Eight Arc - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Greater than sign
Golden Age Arc - Berserk
Enough time has passed. I don’t think it should be a controversial statement that the Endless Eight Arc from Haruhi clears the Golden Age Arc from Berserk. A story oozing with metaphysics and epistemology in every frame, thus making it the most profound moment in all of animanga.
Yeah whatever, shonen kiddie. I’ll show the crystal gems that they’re nothing in comparison to the seinen gems
JoJo and Castlevania scratch a very similar itch for me of being these relics of the 80s action hero era that have existed for so long and kept changing so much that they grew out of and sometimes challenge the ideas of that era
The Endless Eight arc of Haruhi is an example of arcade game design when you really think about it
*Yuji and Gojo walking down the street*
Yuji: Yeesh, I get that he tried to kill us in Jujutsu Kaisen but don’t you think stealing his wallet will cause us problems?
Gojo: Not like he can tell anyone. You know the first rule of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuji: *sighs* Do not talk about Jujutsu Kaisen.
