I have a Bernette 44 funlock. At the time I was trying to choose between the one I got and vibrant babylock.

I rarely have to thread mine- if I change thread I just cut all the threads at the top and tie the new spools on and very carefully hand crank till it’s all the new thread (making sure not to feed the knots through the needles- just cranking right up to needles and then threading through.

Yeah definitely started lifting just to get that endorphin boost to try to be at least slightly less depressy :)

A small vintage featherweight black singer sewing machine with gold detailing. On the sewing machine is the beginning of an orange, yellow and cream colored log cabin quilt square.

Enjoying sewing on my grandma’s machine for the first time in probably 20 years while mine is in the shop. Works great for piecing patchwork.

I read Kindred a few months ago and then went right into Parable of the Sower right as the fires in LA were happening. Had to put it down for a bit because it was so overwhelmingly timely but love her writing so much so picked it up again recently.

I’m sure it would fade a little overtime. But I did very thorough mordanting ahead of time in hopes of making the fabric as color fast as possible! I’ve washed these once and they held color well after that.
