We need a cutesy name for the dialect LLMglish used in the States. Something like “gherkin” maybe…
Made a little video about the metaverse, adapted from the part of my dissertation I had to write twice last week because the cat deleted it

Long drive to SC this weekend and I need a 10+ hour audio feed of Werner Herzog talking about… really anything at all.
I'm very happy to announce that Programming Clojure, 4th edition on @pragprog.com is now available for both ebook and print orders! pragprog.com/titles/shclo...

We found the ideal “quiet little horror as giallo”—1976’s The House with Laughing Windows. We discuss weird Italian towns, brightly-lit attics, and this film’s overlap with folk horror. Also: what’s in that bag?
Emblogginated "As Presaged in March 1993" whereby I read an old computing magazine and write about it with the benefit of hindsight. --> blog.fogus.me/as-presaged/...

I received Ghosts & Scholars #50, containing my first non-computing-related published article! On top of that, I got a nice mention by the amazing Rosemary Pardoe in the editorial. Summer olympics themed etchings.
Behold the most confused board game ever: A 1970s "executive"-style Go set with a gold-etched playing surface, Summer Olympic motifs, and a box that says "Chinese Chess"... Seems like a specialty item from the 1960-70s associated with an Olympics hosted in asian... 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo?

Can anyone recommend some good studies about the cultural, economic, and environmental impacts of LLMs that are not biased?
Be the change you want to see in the world.
If I could scrobble every song I’ve ever heard in my entire life, almost certainly Seal’s Kiss from a Rose would be at the top, thanks to all of the malls and elevators that I’ve been in.
Sunn O))) ticket for DC
See you there DC.

"All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals."
I noticed that the thrift store sells used trophies meaning that I can finally realize my dream of becoming a great bowler!
What the hell happened to mass market paperbacks?!
