The thing that worries me with this is what it’s teaching to people who are coaching youth sports. Like sure I get it if a coach is going to cuss out a pro athlete, but when that’s then used as a model for youth sports it becomes extremely problematic.

It also seemed like she’s a player that will look really good in highlights because the flashes are very flashy, but the consistency is not there at all, which is understandable for a 19 year old, but again why she seems like more of a project to me.

And shooting 62% on free throws doesn’t paint a rosy projection for future shooting growth. Defensively it feels like she’s not enough of a rim protector or rebounder to be a 5, but she’s certainly athletic and could get better as she bulks up more.

I’m mostly basing this off this scouting video I watched, and only started doing dives into prospects today so take it all with a big grain of salt. She seems very right hand dominant on offense, and while she might be able to shoot it eventually she’s a very bad shooter at the moment…

God yeah, we are going to miss Lan. I do really like the pick though. Awa seems like she could be the best player in like 5 years, but it feels like a big IF with how raw she is. Miles is a generational playmaker and gives me Rubio vibes, so I’m obsessed.

Awa really seems like much more of a long term project to me, whereas Miles’ offensive IQ and passing are phenomenal now and will have an immediate impact

I think this is about where I’m at too. I don’t really like the Wolves chances against any non Lakers/Rockets teams, but really hope that a first round loss would lead to significant change. On the other hand winning playoff games is always fun.
