Thanks for raising this @edent.tel
There was already work planned to improve the implementation of notification banners in the service, it just hasn’t been delivered yet.

And one day later Metros can’t run through Gateshead due the deteriorating Gateshead Flyover
Update - as of today the first one is in service 🥳
New Tyne and Wear metro stock, hopefully not long until we can start using these.
It’s ALWAYS a good day with the #WorldBollardAssociation
Returning the street to a place that supports a diversity of functions is vital if we are to move away from car dependency and its numerous negative social and environmental impacts. Children and their play could and should be a central part of this reimagining.

Would be good to see this trialled. I fear its use for now wouldn’t be great, but it would be invaluable to those that use it. I’m lucky to work somewhere that has secure cycle parking, and I can an do use it when in the city on personal trips too.
I’m a few days late seeing you on here, but welcome, glad you are here
Hello Bluesky!
We’re a residents group from #Gosforth, #NewcastleUponTyne, UK.
We’re interested in road safety, air pollution and the history & culture of our city.
Our goal is a Safe Pedestrian And Cycling Environment for Gosforth.
It’s only the facade being kept, all the inside has gone
Unless there is truly something exceptional about a building, then listing just feels like a way of preventing a building continuing to meet its purpose.

Friday’s update
Noise cancelling earphones with no music playing work well too, if you have them. Though ear plugs are a much more affordable solution if you don’t.
Sheffield newly replaced street, wide footway to the left, then red brick cycleway, next unfinished planting area, possibly rain garden
Roundabout with red brick cycleway and triangular pedestrian island in the cycleway
Red brick cycleway approaching shared zebra crossing on an arm of a roundabout
Raised crossing over side road, pavers stop to be asphalt.
Trip to Sheffield, and I’m being teased with new cycle infrastructure and a roundabout. Looking forward to coming back and seeing this finished.
Newcastle Cycle Infrastructure update
Cycle lane protected by bolt down kerbs. Blue arrows show the direction I struggle to join the lane due to tight geometry
Also important for entering protected lanes too, the smaller the gap the slower the entry needs to be.
I struggle entering this lane from a perpendicular road at the junction, not helped by the width of the lane making the geometry really tight too.

There have been so many, I have no idea if I’ve already filled it in until I’m half way through. It amazing to see how other cities have been progressing while the north east has been consulting
Shows a zebra crossing marked on a side road. The street is in central London. There is a shop and a cafe in the background. Vans are driving up the main road. It is damp
Went to see it in the flesh first thing this morning. This is London’s first (I think?) “implied” side road zebra crossing. It has no flashing “Belisha” beacons. It is just paint. Same as you see in dozens of other countries. New for the UK
An outdoor power outlet in a London park with googly eyes on it.
Googly eyes make everything better.
There needs to be an option “there are no buses”
Skip just means the people clicking the tram are going to pollute the training data to make it think trams are buses
Report them to NCCLicensing@newcastle.gov.uk
Photo with reg and taxi licence number helps
Sharing for Newcastle (upon Tyne) #kidicalmass folk, the day before our North Tyneside ride.
5 starting points including Elswick and Byker for the first time, all finishing at Exhibition Park.
I've created a starter pack for active travel people from UK / EU. Huge respect to our US buddies but most lists are US focused so I wanted to do one for EU. Let me know who I'm missing including you!

Hello Bluesky, my first post here. Already finding some of the people I used to follow on other platforms and some new people too. I have previously moved been in the cycle campaigning and general cycling space, and am a software developer in my day job.
