Here is my first in a series of four articles on the 21 Taras published in Lion’s Roar. May this offering support and help to resource you as we navigate these turbulent times.

The slideshow begins with the gathering for the “gate-sealing” ritual and ends with an image from the day the gate was unsealed. Deep gratitude to Lama Palden, Lama Drupgyu, @tsadrafoundation.bsky.social, and for all who supported me and made this profound experience possible. 🙏🏼
Yesterday at Sukhasiddhi Foundation, we commemorated the 20-year anniversary of my completion of 3-year retreat. Though an all-encompassing undertaking, it felt like just the initial steps on a journey, a gateway to a deep connection with the lineage and a continually evolving path. Deep gratitude.
Wishing you a blessed Chökhor Düchen! May we and all beings recognize and resolve the root of our suffering! You can read about this special holiday in my most recent blog post. ✨🙏🏼✨

Wonderful week in retreat with the Sukhasiddhi Foundation sangha. A powerful and meaningful week of Riwo Sangchö practice, Guru Rinpoche prayers, and Green Tara practice.
My retreat teaching prep companion today.
Wishing you a blessed Saga Dawa Düchen! Here is a link to today’s blog with some reflections on this special day and month

Truly a joyous moment. A heartening blessing for us as the current administration has been unleashing our most destructive and hateful instincts on us and the world. May Pope Leo XIV inspire us to remember our kind, wise, and compassionate hearts and let that guide our actions at home and abroad.
I'm leading a retreat this weekend and am unable to participate in the protest in person, but I'm heartened, inspired, & energized by the passion of the speakers and the roar of the crowd I hear rising up from the valley where the Marin Civic Center is located. #resist #handsoff #protest
Wishing you an auspicious Chötrül Düchen! May it bring you boundless blessings. The rare alignment with a full lunar eclipse this year amplifies the transformative power of this sacred day. You can read more about its significance in my latest blog for Sukhasiddhi Foundation. tinyurl.com/mrx5fv78
My article in the new issue of Lion’s Roar is about cultivating vajra-confidence in our ever present buddha nature. Included, is a brief White Tara practice that provides an opportunity to immediately deepen your experience of your indestructible true nature.

The new painting job at the FBI Academy is disheartening. (Source: NYT) May we keep cooperativeness, fairness, leadership, compassion, diversity, integrity, stability, emotional maturity, respect, and more alive and flourishing until we, as a nation, can return to that aim.
If you are interested to learn about how you can assist those who are incarcerated with their dharma study by serving as a “study-buddy,” join us this evening for an informational session introducing the partnership of Sukhasiddhi Foundation with the Buddhist Prison Ministry.

Beautiful foggy morning.
9th Deed: As Siddhartha neared awakening, Mara tried to stir ignorance, desire & aggression. Despite false news, temptations & attacks, he remained undisturbed. When Mara’s warriors hurled weapons, the arrows transformed into blossoms as Siddhartha remained in samadhi, filled with love & compassion.
This week, while teaching the 12 Deeds of the Buddha, the 9th Deed—subduing the maras—stood out as a relevant daily-life reminder to draw upon strength and clarity to focus on the broader context and more consequential political actions, rather than the continual flow of disturbing distractions.
Calling on all resources!
I usually don’t post wrathful images but had the thought this morning that this would be the day to do it! I appreciate this offering of yours. Thank you.
As we cross this threshold today:
“What if our mistaken perception of a solid world of self and other could give way to a recognition that all we experience is a magical, rainbow-like dance of awakened mind that we have the capacity to participate consciously in creating?”
