Seit einem Jahr überblätter ich fast komplett die USA-Sektion im Economist weil es keinen Sinn ergibt, Analysen von Trumps Aussagen zu lesen. Die FT ist da auch immer noch etwas orientierungslos. Und das sind 2 der besten Publikationen der Welt.

Trump will, wie immer, Irans Kontrolle der Straße von Hormuz einfach wegbullshitten, und Iran shittet einfach zurück usw. usf.

Irgendjemand meinte neulich, dass sowohl Trump als auch Iran beide als Verhandler nun jeweils auf eine Gegenseite treffen, die mit maximalem Bad Faith agiert. Das sei für beide Seiten eine völlig neue Situation.

Ich muss ständig daran denken.

Six months ago, there was a lot of focus on the idea that the there would be a massive glut of unused computing power which could cause a recession as AI use plateaued. The "compute bubble" belief was absolutely everywhere.

The degree to which this turned it wrong deserves some notice.

A lot of our education on writing well focuses on logic, clarity, and argument. AI will force us to think more about style. The boredom that comes from everything on the internet reading Claude-y now, no matter how good the substance is, should make us appreciate (and make us want to develop) style.

NON-PROFESSIONAL & ENGAGEMENT BAIT: Anyone "classically trained" to write code pre-LLMs will take on look at the leaked Claude Code repo and see that it's a pile of unmaintainable slop. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that this doesn't actually matter. Coding is no longer a craft. No one cares how the code looks. All that matters is the utility of the program, with special exceptions made for mission critical considerations like security. Languages like TypeScript are just assembly at this point.
