This morning I’ve seen Olly Robbins’s appearance before the select committee described as ‘box office’, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words ‘bring the popcorn’.

That’s one of our main problems right there.

As Sir John Curtice explained yesterday, the majority of the electorate aren’t interested. This is the Westminster bubble and the Conservative media getting worked up about something irrelevant.

I'm always skeptical of BBC-bashing, but BBC News website hasn't reported on the Tice tax scandal since 12 April, when the headline was "Tice £91,000 tax row is 'minor administrative error', party claims".

Whatever the rights and wrongs of appointing Mandelson as US ambassador, the UK needs a safe pair of hands as PM given the uncertainty of the international situation following Trump's unlawful attack on Iran.

Trevor Phillips said on Sky News this morning that "everybody in the country who could read a newspaper" knew in advance of the Mandelson appointment that he was problematic

is this the same Phillips who interviewed Mandelson on October 08 2023 and didn't ask any questions about Epstein friendship?

Confirmation by Lewis Goodall the media is and always has been biased against Labour

Others have posted this but it needs to be shared far and wide. Goodall's response is telling, it's victim blaming, it's akin to women being told not to wear short skirts and if they do they're asking for it. Absolutely appalling but not really news to many of us who are sick of the media.

What should have happened: the REIT paid no tax but the Tice companies holding shares in the REIT paid £98k tax on the dividends they received. What actually happened: none of the companies paid any tax.
