Not sure what the rationale is for grouping and comparing 2013-17 vs 2020-24 and ignoring 2018-19. That aggregation distorts/hides the real trends. Bottom line is: of 7 collision categories, 6 have been trending up since 2020.

I think we – Ottawa residents and especially transit users – will regret relinquishing control of the LRT. That aside this all smells like we are in for a pre-elxn surprise making Mark the hero and precluding any substantive inspection of the deal prior to the vote. Yes, I am cynical.
Wait. Is that a Markphalt patch?
Sens lose.
Habs win.
Life is good.
I agree that’s as it was intended but it’s far too subtle for the inattentive majority.
You mean a Tkosmic disturbance.
It doesn’t often happen, but he’s not wrong.
Not opposed in principal but in current circumstances a windfall tax would turn smouldering AB independence into an inferno. Not worth it when we have other existential challenges.
Amen.
By my count you are up to 8 or 9 fingers in the LRT dike. Maybe you can play that game until the election. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
Gotta be honest, for me it’s more of a night mayor vibe.
Are parking and despair flavours?
Hollywood. Empty flex.
Know what we’d like Mark? Some honesty about the LRT debacle. You promised to fix transit. It has only gotten exponentially worse in your term. The current shiny thing, CBA sensors, isn’t a fix in any sense. The trains are literally falling apart & you just hide from the issue. Stand up or go away.
To be very generous that take is questionable. Compare avg single family homes Tor vs Ott. T: value $1.019MM tax $7,800. O: $845,000 tax $11,300. A $1MM assessed home: T= $7,700; O= $13,500.
Even with far higher mil rates, Ottawa still massively fails on service quality and breadth.
While the Ford govt has clearly adopted slow starvation as a strategy, TOH and other hospitals don’t have clean hands. I see precisely zero public pushback from TOH leadership. They could engage the public to fight but have clearly chosen not to. Makes
ya wonder.
The “Does Not Exist” segment should be labeled “Hidden Service Cuts”
Ottawa _is_ a P3.
“Perpetual Pilot Project”
“He is much dumber than he looks.”
How is that possible?
That’s not a “timeline.” It’s an admission that OCT has no idea when or if service will be restored and then extended on L1. This is “We commit to nothing and will be held accountable for less than nothing.”
Councillors who accept this BS are being derelict.
Y’all are doing nothing to build confidence that this Council can do difficult, worthwhile things.
This unnamed CPC MP gets it. Money quote 👇
All busy sweeping up the smashed china at Stornoway.
Every photo must include parking. ✅
I look at what Canada could do to help open the Strait of Hormuz over at The Line:

Learned on my parents’ ‘70 Ford Torino. 4yrs old and so rusted you could reach into the trunk thru the rear quarter panel. Wouldn’t start in winter unless you popped the air filter can open and manually opened the choke. Never drove w/o a long handled screw driver to reach the choke. Good times.
Trolling would be a step up. He’s just blind to the issues or DGAF. Both perhaps.
“By” not “but”
Charlie, I really appreciate your advocacy & insight but this skeet is inaccurate. The archbishop involved is not he “head of the US military chaplains.” That position is held but a military officer. The Archbishop is, as you say in your substack, responsible for the Catholic military archdiocese.
Not a clue. Not a whiff of a clue. None.
