The lack of checking scares me, because it shows that a bunch of people are more concerned with following orders and not asking questions, instead of getting things right. If they're doing this for social media posts, they're doing it in places where people's lives are on the line.
You're not reading too much into this. When I was enlisted, I was on the Marine Corps social media team (who retweeted this). Attention to detail was always one of our top priorities, because if we couldn't get things right in our cubicle, how could we expect to get things right in a combat zone
