Oh dang this is a great list of books coming out!! Including Rabbit Test and Other Stories 😍

yeah, i was really interested in how the media differed, what adjustments they had to make, what’s been combined/shifted/etc. to make the particularly coherent animated version. Also read some of the comics. Looking forward to how that continues textually!

made a fun post with some books i’m looking forward to this year. it’s not exhaustive (by any means) and is limited mostly due to a) my memory and b) the time i have to add stuff, but i hope you will have fun perusing and leave me more things you think i will like.

LORDSWORN by Marrensmusings GMless game of tragic, broken soldiers trying to get Home in the apocalypse.

though not as granular on the material front, there’s a cool game called Lordsworn with a similar concept.

Had this exact interaction with you once, and you taught me about this, and man do I appreciate it. I like to think I’ve learned a lot since then, but it was a lightbulb moment for me. Thanks for sharing these threads!

There’s also a breakdown of some of the old poetry that went into finding the voice—from Seamus Heanney’s Beowulf to Nicola Griffith’s Spear, and Wulf Ond Eadwacer (as performed by Gealdyr).

Gealdyr’s Vigridr album kept me company for basically the entire writing of the novella, so have a listen!

OKAY BUT ALSO YES THIS.

ACTUALLY WAIT LET ME TAKE A MINUTE AND ALL CAPS SCREAM SOMETHING IMPORTANT:

People don't actually hate marketing, you've just seen BAD MARKETING.

GOOD MARKETING GIVES PEOPLE SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT AND SHARE WITH FRIENDS.
