There's a huge new gas rig looming over our 12 Apostles
There's a huge new gas rig looming over our 12 Apostles YouTube video by The Australia Institute

A gas exploration drilling rig has appeared within sight of one of Australia’s most loved natural wonders, the 12 Apostles.

We don’t need to turn our iconic natural wonders into gas fields. We need to prioritise Australians over exports.

Hi Taryn, belated happy Easter to you also. I haven't been on social media much lately. Everything too depressing. Hop you had a good extra long weekend and you and yours are well.

Live: Albanese to announce $10m program to protect Great Barrier Reef Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in Far North Queensland to spruik a new $10 million Reef Educational Experience Fund to protect and promote the Great Barrier Reef. Follow live.

This is laughable and disingenuous.

How on earth will such a piecemeal effort protect the reef while the very same government continues its love affair with coal and gas?

I recall seeing a reasonably well-known psephologist post a few months ago, that people thinking Dutton would borrow his tactics from Trump were completely barking up the wrong tree - almost borderline idiots in fact - which I think says a great deal about focusing solely on quantitative analysis.

Yep I know this - I won't be voting for either of them, and keeping the coalition out and having a minority govt to force Labor out of their position is what is needed.

Charts showing that the richest 10% get 81% (around $18bn) of the benefit of the CGT 50% discount

Dutton's property investments... A reminder, on this property he made $3,675,000. But because you get a 50% discount on capital gains, he only had to pay tax on $1,837,500.

That tax discount each year costs around $22bn - of which $18bn goes to the richest 10%

Bit touchy? It was a mistake. Pitt spent his whole political career being a climate denier, specifically out to break any emission reduction policies & favour fossil fuel corps (especially those linked to the coalition), gets rewarded with a big paying holiday in Italy & I'm the malevolent one!

I frequent South Gippsland and East Gippsland in my EV and see lot's of EVs on the road all the time. They are becoming less obvious now because your MGs, Volvos and Hyundais are not as prominent as the Teslas, BYDs and Kias.
