The 1926 Census is amazing, so far I found a few Great-Parents, but also my Grandfather (Maternal) who was 12 and my Grandmother (Paternal) who was 1 month old, born that month in fact.

Rev. Meghan was privileged to welcome two members of the Choctaw Nation who work with the Nation’s museums and heritage centres to St. Anne’s today. Ryan and Reno are visiting Ireland and came to #Cork to see the Kindred Spirits sculpture in Midleton.
🎵 Musical May is here at St Anne's, Shandon! Four events this month — choral festival, a brass & voices fundraiser, and an inclusive Sunday service. Come climb our tower, ring the bells, and stay for the music. All welcome. 🔔

Kingfishers (Alcedo atthis) at a site in the Lower River Shannon catchment last week. Make sure to turn the volume up, as the audio captures the interaction between the pair. This footage was recorded using a trail camera modified with a close-focusing lens.
With the project now greenlit, the Gov must accelerate funding for Luas to Finglas
Plans to stall the project til 2029 are unacceptable. Investing in reliable, affordable & accessible public transport is one of the best ways we can reduce fossil fuel dependency. www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/co...
Some indications that Government would view a no vote from Danny Healy-Rae in today’s confidence motion as a breach of its agreement with both himself and his brother. It was based on the understanding that two votes secured one ministerial job, which went to Michael Healy-Rae.

Is the Minister for Media, Patrick O'Donovan, going to haul the media in every time he disagrees with their coverage of his Government's mismanagement?
It is inappropriate for the Minister to interfere in the independence of media when their reporting does not suit his Government.
O Lord, grant us a quiet night and a peaceful end. #Compline

Seeing Victor Orbán concede defeat feels like a big moment for Europe - we have seen 16 years of eroding social rights in Europe, rescinding LGBT freedoms, rights for refugees and women and building fossil fuel based alliances with Russia

The Green Party has no confidence in this government
Over the course of last week, the actions of the Government continually made a difficult situation worse.
They caused confusion, raised tensions, and failed to protect Irish people’s ability to go about their lives for 5 days.
It has no plan to move Ireland away from its addiction to fossil fuels
A good day for Hungary, for Europe, for Ukraine, and above all for democracy. Not the best day for Donald Trump I suspect... hungarytoday.hu/viktor-orban...

Presumably there will be a package of reliefs for people who are out of pocket from booking hotels and transport and other costs to attend these ceremonies right?
And the protesters will support this because those are mostly working people right?

In that sense, a US blockade of the strait is a lot harder to legally justify. It's blocking vessels of countries we aren't at war with, transiting to countries we're not at war with. That's a worse violation of freedom of navigation and the rights of nonbelligerent states than what Iran is doing!

Fuel protesters in O'Connell Street have been cleared and escorted away from the city centre by gardaí in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí have also ended a number of blockades across parts of the M50.

The government are handling this protest very badly. They are overestimating the support for the protestors. They will get huge backlash to direct payments to a sector that is already heavily subsidised. And they have shown them how to get more next time. #SpeirGorm

Research from the Financial Times and thinktank Bruegel confirm that Europe’s dependence on fossil fuels is a causing price volatility and making the EU vulnerable to geopolitical shocks.

If we don’t pay it here, where we can then use it to pay for social protection measures such as fuel allowance & energy credits, or to provide warmer homes, then it will be paid to the EU where we have no control over how it is spent.
