I wasn't on the game, but I was sat next to Danny Curley who was responsible for the placement of the pick ups and making it fun.

Wow, I don't think I've seen such a stable version of the game. For a long time Tom would slide around the screen and be disassociated to the environment. The video makes it look half decent. And yes, quite a few music tracks on the I recognise. I should show Curley this, he would "love" it. 😅

That's not it neither... 😅 It wasn't this dark.

My copy of Chuckie Egg getting signed by Doug Anderson, the "A" of A&F Software.

I don't remember the music to sound like that. The original was less jolly and more ominous. 😆 I don't know why I still remember, but I can still hum it.

‘People still remember it 40 years later’: the making of Chuckie Egg The iconic game that came to define 8-bit programming still conjures flutters of nostalgia 40 years on – all thanks to a 15-year-old tea boy who worked a Saturday shift in a computer shop in Greater M...

Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

This was Paul Gill's wasn't it? With Curley placing cheese pick ups. There was talk about "artificial stupidity" in the way you could fool Tom into chasing its own tail. Tom's character was massive on the screen. I didn't work on this, I was too tired up on Road Runner 2 Wiley's Revenge. 💀💀💀

10 years of LGM. What started for me as a hunt for Japanese games at Scottish Allan's stall is now a social event with friends—like Sarah Roberts Art, who made me this awesome custom Sakura Taisen perler piece. LGM is where I connect, belong, and share this hobby with friends old & new.

Do you get sales reports on where your e-subscribers are from etc? The Spanish CPC group is pretty well run as well, I saw those guys at last year's RetCon and they'll be there again this year.

Fantastic, and about time too. Can't say I'm entirely surprised that it's one of our European cousins who Kickstarts a CPC project and not us here where the machine originates.

"It turns from a building into a robot. What's fun about that?"
"Well, if you've read your industry breakdown..."

Going on your own or with family? If the latter, take a short break, get some fresh air every so often, at which time no bargaining until your return. Have fun! Hope you sell loads.

Around Christmas 1993, I was asked by my boss to bring my camcorder into the office to do a video of our musicians. I took the opportunity to do a walk through the office, and managed to capture the games being made at the time inc. Max Carnage.

I don't recognise it. I'm guessing it's from Mark Flitman at Acclaim. He released a bunch of material including faxes a few years back. I assume this is in the game? If only they'd approached us we would have been able to provide so much more. What do you think of the compilation?

Ah... Pursuit Force. I remember Phil Harrison coming up to me telling me that under no circumstance am I allowed to have "player character hanging onto the car" scenarios or gameplay in Black Monday because of Pursuit Force.

There was a guy at LGM yesterday selling off his entire Pokémon (games) collection. I asked him why. He said he's moving house and needs the money for furniture. It was painful. I couldn't do it. 😞

You can Google Lens everything now. I play through Japanese text heavy games with my phone on a tripod running Google Lens. Not ideal, but does the job.

Classic game. To win I will need the map in Amstrad Action though...

@bone6502.bsky.social saw this earlier today at the London Gaming Market & thought of you. It's a strategy guide for the Famicom version. It's meant to be 300yen, but today it was more like 2000% of that...
