(2/2) Why not just publish daily shows at, say, 8pm ET? Right now, they're filmed hours before... So shows would be more relevant, more likely to draw people in prime demos, who could watch whatever their bedtimes?
Is it $? Logistics? (Not a media reporter -- please forgive my ignorance!)

Question!! (1/2): Why haven’t streamers aggressively gone after the late night market? (For all political persuasions!)
Whenever I have watched a late show it’s always been the next day on YouTube, because I’m old now and should be asleep by the “live” airing...

- Scholarships only open to people of a certain race (maybe also: gender, religion, etc.)
- Diverse slates

(Not that I ever thought social media was unbiased! Just am surprised at how one-sided the echo chamber seems when the polling suggests a much more split electorate.)
Given all the numbers in this thread, I've been a bit surprised to see just *how* stilted my social media feeds are (mine seem extremely pro-Mamdani).
Maybe results will differ from this polling. But if they're anything close... then it's a good reminder to be dubious of social media.

On DOGE, Directives, and DOJ Anna Bower Sunday, April 27, 2025, 4:05 PM Share On: f X in & G B A new court filing reveals the most compelling evidence yet that the government has been spinning a fiction about DOGE in federal court.
NEW: Government officials insist that neither DOGE nor Musk have any real decision-making authority—they merely “advise” or “consult.”
But internal DOJ emails provide the most compelling evidence yet that DOGE is not simply advising—it’s calling the shots.

Rockalina was an adult eastern box turtle living in the wild when she was taken into a New York home in 1977. When a reptile rehabilitation center got a hold of her this February, they worried for her survival.
Two Zuckerberg-financed schools designed for low-income students -- in East Palo Alto and East Bay -- are shutting down.
East Palo Alto's Enrollment: 443 students, most Latino.
The reason: Zuckerberg's charity won't say.

A short🧵: The Trump executive order "Restoring Equality of Opportunity and Meritocracy" sets out to eliminate liability under federal civil rights laws for disparate impact. It includes a lot of bluster, but its key operative provisions instruct DOJ to begin the process of rescinding regulations.
Re: MTA v. Duffy, No. 25 Civ. 1413 (S.D.N.Y.) Dear Erin: We write with respect to the above-referenced litigation brought by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority ("MTA") against the U.S. Department of Transportation ("DOT"), U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, the Federal Highway Administration ("FHWA"), and Executive Director of the FHWA, Gloria Shepherd, to provide you with information concerning (1) the litigation risk that DOT faces in defending the Secretary's February 19, 2025 decision to terminate the New York City Central Business District Tolling Program ("CBDTP") agreement, and (2) a process for terminating the CBDTP agreement outside of the current litigation for DOT to consider. As discussed below, there is considerable litigation risk in defending the Secretary's February 19, 2025 decision against plaintiffs' claims under the Administrative Procedure Act, that the decision was contrary to law, pretextual rocedurally arbitrary and capricious, and violated due process. For the reasons outlined below, it is unlikely that Judge Liman or further courts of review will accept the argument that the CBDTP was not a statutorily authorized "value pricing" pilot under the Value Prising Pilot Program (" ar FHWA may, however, be able to properly terminate the CBDTP value pricing pilot pursuant to established Office of Management and Budget ("OMB") regulations concerning the termination of cooperative agreements. Termination of the CBDTP agreement pursuant to these OMB regulations would still allow FHWA to end the CBDTP for the Secretary's stated reasons, but would do so as a matter of changed agency priorities rather than arguing the CBDTP was not statutorily authorized in the first instance. Importantly, DOT can seek termination of the agreement pursuant to the OMB regulations in addition to, and not in place of, defending the rationale laid out in the Secretary's letter. So, uh, it certainly looks like DOJ intended to file a letter to Judge Liman in MTA v. Duffy, but….it accidentally filed a letter containing its legal advice to the Department of Transportation instead
