Hey yesterday I emailed an archivist with, and I quote, “do you know what ‘bundle dated 1190-1200,46’ might be?” And they emailed me back within an hour with the full text of a deed and a translation
so yeah, ask a librarian (and archivists)

"sorry I can't come to your once-in-250-years party. I'll be busy doing something it would actually make much more logical sense to do four days later. I bumped it up on purpose so I could throw it in your face. eat shit forever, amen"

This is a stunningly beautiful bit of writing.
Can't wait for 5 o'clock today. Not to get away from work, but to be astounded by how light it is.
And then get home and talk about it some more.
Then say it again later.
And then keep checking the sky after that.
Then when it IS dark talk about how late it is.
Can't wait.
Yes — “The older I get, the more I realize, I don’t want a busy life. I want a deep life. Slow mornings. Focused work. Calm people. Meaningful progress. Good books. A quiet mind at night. Nothing flashy. Nothing trendy. Just a life that feels good to live. Depth over noise. That'll do.“ Karun Pal
I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE LEARN THIS
my cat wakes up every day fully expecting an uninterrupted session of Cheese Time, even though Cheese Time has rarely occurred in her fifteen years of living because of her lactose intolerance and consequent diarrhea, and i wish i had this sort of optimism about my life
Happy 227th Birthday #AnnaAtkins!

The bodice of a pale yellow silk late 1880s dress embroidered either side of the centre with flowers and stem of daffodils
Full length view of the late 1880s pale yellow dress which cuts away to reveal a petticoat beneath. It has embroidered daffodils running the length of the gown and around to the train as well
A detail of one of the embroidered yellow daffodils worked in long and short silk shading stitch for a painterly effect
Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! Happy St David’s Day to my Welsh friends, family and of course Mr S himself. Thus beautiful daffodil strewn late #1880s gown is a perfect tribute #AmericanMuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
A circular infographic chart categorizing cheeses by type of milk and texture. At the center, four sections are labeled cow, sheep, goat, and buffalo, radiating outward into concentric rings for textures: soft, semi-soft, semi-hard, and hard. Each cheese name is placed within its corresponding segment, with illustrated wedges of cheese circling the outer edge. Cow’s milk occupies the largest portion, featuring well-known varieties like Brie, Camembert, Taleggio, Havarti, Gouda, Cheddar, and Parmesan. Sheep’s milk includes cheeses such as Roquefort, Manchego, and Pecorino Romano. Goat’s milk features options like Chèvre, Crottin de Chavignol, and Humboldt Fog. Buffalo is represented by Mozzarella di Bufala Campana and Buffalo Blue. The cheeses are organized visually so that softer varieties appear closer to the center and harder ones toward the edge. Small colored drawings show each cheese’s texture, rind, and tone, from creamy whites and soft rounds to golden blocks, crumbly wedges, and blue-veined interiors. The background is a deep charcoal gray, making the warm oranges, yellows, and creams of the cheeses stand out clearly.
