The crosses concede is the same under both, 19.7 per game.
Dispossessions have decreased a little from 8.85 to 7.83 per game but dont have the pitch location data. This could be a result of a more conservative build up, or less risk in the final third

I did note the improved points per game and how its title winning form, but with the small sample and how marginal some games have been I dont think we should lean on this too much when judging his performance so far
My comment on benefitting from other poor form was about table position, not opponents.
Its undeniably helped that Villa, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all shit the bed at the same time Carrick has come in. Not only in table position but with fan perception too
I was just showing which stats had changed. Think your inferring my intent.
Higher possession, touches in the box, and shots in the box are all key indicators for productive and sustainable attacks so I do think it's worth noting how these have declined, whatever the reasoning is.
Surely, with such a narrow attack, the FBs should be responsible for creating width. Otherwise it's just too easy to pack the middle and block it? Which is kinda what's happening.
Think it's a given that all managers are supported by a hands on coaching team. Though tactically it's not far off Carrick's Middlesbrough so he's obviously directing like you'd expect from the manager.
Have you had these? Next level
Carrick might be the best available option but having trouble envisioning a very bright future with him. Was just starting to see it Amorim. Still a but gutted he's gone
Like the contrast of min/max.
Cheers.
Agreed. I dont mind the counter attack system at all and its handy to fall back on but it has a ceiling, the chance of winning a title with it these days are very slim.
His central attack idea is fine as long as there is a workable method to create central space then a plan B for good low blocks
The 'attack centrally with quick tight passing' idea is far too easy to block for that to be the only plan. Was hoping to at least see what plan B might be. Doesnt appear forthcoming though
Realising I'd be happier with Klopp than Poch has disturbed me. Thanks 👍
I dont think the team are significantly better overall since Carrick took over. Definitely luckier when considering close results and game state situations like red cards.
He probably will get the job, and it's close enough between the other candidates that it's likely the correct decision.

Significantly over performing expected data isn't uncommon in small samples but we can say it's unlikely to continue to such a high level.
I think a better system for progressing the ball into the box is sorely needed if Carrick is to continue but a new midfield will certainly help with that.

Review...
Results obviously better and moving up the table, but benefitting from others poor form. Mood has improved but there is definite cause for concern in the background stats.
A more solid defence certainly helps tho mid-table attacking numbers wont be good enough in the long term.

Expected...
Non penalty xG has fallen from 4th best to 14th, surprisingly xG conceded is also worse, 7th to 9th.
The deltas with actual goals are interesting. Amorim under performed both metrics with -5.19 on expected goal difference. Carrick is over performing with +8.16.
That's worrying.
6/
Attack...
We're scoring more goals, up to 1.83 per game from 1.7
However, shots in the box has gone down significantly from 2nd to 9th, and minutes per chance created has dropped from 1st (6.1) to 6th (7.1)
Players are the same so shooting quality shouldn't have changed. Is Carrick luckier?
5/
Defending...
Big improvements with goals conceded per game up from 14th (1.5) to 8th (1.08)
Similarly, shots conceded in the box has improved from 11th to 4th, and minutes per chance conceded is slightly better from 8.5 to 8.2.
So back 4 is more solid and more comfortable for the players?
4/
Possession...
Average possession has dropped from 5th highest in the league at 53.6% down to 10th with 51%.
Surprising with Mainoo playing and Carricks reputation for high control.
Touches in opposition box also down from 4th to 12th. So possession not translating well into pressure on goal?

Firstly, the big one, and the most important one, is results.
Amorim = 8 Wins / 8 Draws / 5 Loses
Carrick = 8 Wins / 2 Draws / 2 Loses
This means an improved points per game of 2.16 under Carrick. Up from 1.55 previously.
That's potentially league winning form, but is it sustainable?

The case for/against Carrick🧵. Team data
Looking at this season's team performance metrics for games 1 - 20 under Amorim, compared to games 22 - 33 under Carrick.
What has changed and what can we predict for future performance?
Should Carrick get the job?

i am a neutral and i want arsenal to win the league because human rights abusing petrostates are worse than annoying fans, and i don't understand how this isn't a consensus opinion.
Preacharound
A painting of Lucifer tempting Jesus in the desert. Lucifer is INCREDIBLY naked, dirty, and lurid, rubbing up ons Jesus' robes from behind; his hand is open in offering and is placed in front of Jesus' crotch
I just re-found this painting, which was in a kid's bible I had growing up. I used to obssess over it, and I'm pretty sure seeing Lucifer here was the first time I thought a man was attractive? Over the years I'd think "it couldn't possibly be as horny as I remember it", but I mean come ON
The constant briefing from 'Man United hierarchy' is pathetic. Worse than even Woodward used to do.
😬😬😬
Van Dijk got the same ban for the same thing a few seasons back. Its bullshit but at least it's not just us
3 match ban and he didn’t even use enough force to remove his hair band.
