Did a lot of cleanup on camera & player orientation stuff. Fixed some weird angle flickering, and played with the angle at which the player back-pedals and added some tweening on player rotation to smooth it out. #gamedev #lowpoly

Trying to emulate FFXI's unique camera behavior:
When idle, the camera is sorta pushed and pulled along with the player instead of a traditional locked on 3rd person view.
When in combat, its more or less locked and orbits around the midpoint between the player and target. #gamedev #lowpoly

For the frog... maybe they dont have armor and just have better base stats? Or maybe they just have a small pool of frog-only armor. hmmm am i being lazy?

I have 'dungeon-crawl' style skills, as they level up increase heath/mana/damage etc. One of the cooler parts of FFXI was the traits youd get at certain job levels, why not combine them! Starting to add little passive bonuses at certain skill levels. Stuff like: Double attack, better potions, etc.
So it took some doing, but managed to get the skeleton's animation set looking good on the frog's rig! Frog is now *playable* #gamedev #lowpoly

Made a fun level painting tool. Under the hood theres a simple color map texture that replaces R/G/B/Black with the 4 texture types. From there you raycast from the mouse position to grab the triangle/uv info, then paint directly on the color map and save it back out as a PNG.
Can be very useful! Try making an editor tool to paint the vertex colors, I wound up doing something similar for my world texturing, but using a color map instead of vertex colors. 🤩🤌nice work, looks really good!
