"I've designed a firework show using Flamo Flicker and Drako Drought!
Would you like to be my first viewer?
It won't burn your hat, I promise!"

Multiple angles of a ceramic sculpture of a griffin standing at attention, wings stretched out slightly, forming a heart shape. Its body is a warm brown with a light belly, pink-orange accents, and black tipped flight feathers. Big ole eyes stare back at the viewer. Illustrated all over its neck, wings, and back is foliage featuring the flowers and seeds of the American chestnut tree. Sculpted into its back is a candle holder with stars decorating the sides. A lit candle sits in the holder.
🌟 Fling Forward a Light 🌟
This sculpture is for the #UPwithART fundraiser supporting Unity Project London and Museum London in Ontario.
You can view all the work in person from April 17th-25th.

A shimmering circle of light surrounds the upraised arms of a woman who weaves light from the battlements of a castle. She wears an elegant dress of black and purple, and even in small detail it's obvious she's dripping in gold jewelry. Below an orange dragon with a yellow scaled belly blasts a stream of flame into the air. The gout isn't aimed at the armed men below who run in terror as their shield their eyes and bodies. A wall of white flames climbs the castle wall behind the dragon bathing the foreground in intense light. None of the flame consumes the surrounding bare trees or tents—evidence of a siege in progress but now broken.
Detail from STRONGHOLD featuring a Sunrunner weaving light from the top of castle battlements. Below an orange dragon cracks its maw to send a line of fire into the sky.

The magic in Melanie Rawn's Sunrunner trilogies involves weaving light, but just what is that faradhi on the battlements casting? There are clues to what's going on in the illustration. 1/2

I had to stop myself after playing for years, i am certain you can too.

YESSSS they were gorgeous!!!
And as someone who works in a museum, it was super cool to see the way they mixed gallery spaces into the home spaces!

Maybe we'll keep some InfoWars content up.
Did I just argue with a joke? Part of a Bluesky educational series
Today is the last day you can get my okapi pins from the Bizarre Beasts pin club!! complexly.store/products/biz...
Likely that one! :D There's zebra jumping spiders but they have more white and more pattern variety
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

A collection of fossils and minerals from the gift shop. A trilobite fossil, a nice staircase shaped chunk of bismuth, a piece of Mexican amber, a small mosasaur tooth, a larger spinosaur tooth, two smaller gem pieces, and half of an ammonite fossil.
A slightly blurry closeup of the ammonite fossil that shows some of the pretty opalescent color peeking through the rock.
A closeup of the Mexican amber that shows the deep color and beautiful striations.
They also had some fossils that I'd been wanting to collect in the store for way nicer prices than ebay or reptile show vendors so I finally got a few pieces I've been after. ♥
A LARGE chunk of petrified wood with a lot of visible crystal inside. You can slightly make out the tree rings on the top surface.
Three different mahogany obsidian chunks. Two are black with a little bit of red while the middle one is red with a little bit of black.
What I DID bring home from the museum was still good tho. They had $1/lb bulk rock bins of petrified wood and obsidian so I got some gorgeous pieces for only $6.
Was so tempted to take him home since I lost Nic to age recently but I did not have a jar handy and have mixed feelings about catching wild spiders to keep as a pet, even if they're not a threatened species.
Male regal jumping spider looking up. He is distinctly black and white with the metallic teal chelicerae.
Somehow I have never seen a regal jumping spider in the wild despite them being SUPER COMMON, even the red-backed jumping spider I've only ever seen by work a couple times.
My friend noticed this lil dude on the museum grounds yesterday! A wild male regal! :D
A display of opals from Rainbow Ridge Mine in Nevada.
A MASSIVE thunder egg named Meatball on a stand with little nametags and a "PLEASE TOUCH Be Gentle" sign.
Part of a PNW gallery, information about Bernie the Thalattosaur, discovered in Oregon.
Bernie himself, an approximation of a complete skeleton hung from the ceiling, possibly waving, with glass eyes affixed into the eye cavities.
I took soooo many reference and color inspo photos here but also found some cool dudes
A dark room with rotating light cycles that show the way certain minerals fluoresce under two different types of UV light + daylight appearance. The minerals are all kinds of neon colors, including reds and greens.
A display of nothing but crab fossils
A large open gallery space with nothing but different species of petrified wood, sliced and polished to shine.
A weird mineral called mordenite, this is considered the world's finest specimen. It is a mineral that looks like a fuzzy mold and apparently feels like cotton balls. It was found in a place named Rat's Nest Mine. The museum has put up a silly little sign with a rat saying "it's not my fault!" next to it.
We made it to the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals which is a really cool hidden gem of a place (pun only a little intended)
It's a historic home converted into a museum with a beautiful collection of gems, minerals, and fossils and a bunch of galleries.
Reptile show was fun and I got good advice from some hognose breeders for trying to get Stubby to eat and they approved the look of his setup too. :>
Got down later than I'd hoped so we had to skip some other stops I'd wanted to make before the show.
Sunset out over the Columbia River from the Kalama McMenamins lodge. The other side of the water is Oregon. The sky is vibrant shades of orange, lavender, blue, and grey.
Last night I'd had my heart set on going to the only WA In-n-Out Burger location since we were in the area
Right up until seeing the ONE HOUR LONG line of cars that went all the way out into the roundabout.
So we went to our first ever McMenamins instead and had an amazing outdoor table view
A garment for Charon called Gift of the Dead. His hood has been replaced with angel wings to obscure his face. He cradles a skeletal body in one arm while holding a scythe in the other. Angels frame the background of the Death tarot card.
Finally watching the 3.7 update video for Reverse 1999 and oh my GOD the Charon skin ;o; I am so excited for this update omgggg
Vox from Hazbin Hotel laying on the ground with head suspended by wires. Red cracked screens surround him
"Who are you? Just a dead man."
He's fine and enjoying his ipad era I'm sure. New art!! Finally took a silly man getting his head ripped off for me to draw him I guess /shrug

That's so weird looking O: Our red-breasted sapsuckers do the same behavior but their tree species of choice don't form those irritated donut shapes around the holes, it just stays flat.
Ohhhhh so pretty ;o; I'm relieved we don't have venomous snakes in my area but I do wish I could safely observe some of these guys in the wild sometimes!
A Great Blue Heron takes flight. It's wings are concave as it is lifting into flight.
I saw a nice Great Blue Heron yesterday. I kept clicking as he departed and got a shot where the wings are perfectly concave. Fun, fun click to get!

Unfortunately I now have to finish prepping for Queercon this upcoming saturday lmao no rest for me just yet
Not sure how much walking I did over the weekend especially since my google fit doesn't really count short bursts with frequent stops like at a reptile show or art show :P But my hip joints are FEELING IT.... </3
Very drained but this weekend was a lot of fun ♥
A mascot costume of the D&D meme "Three Kobolds in a Trench Coat"- in a long khaki beige trench coat. The top kobold is red in colour, wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a blue and green scarf. The middle head is blue, with two hands underneath it, and the bottom head is orange, with a grimace on his face. The orange feet support everything! This is a real costume being worn by a model.

I am delighted to show off the final photos of this behemoth of a project I've been working on since last year: the Three Kobolds in a Trench Coat mascot costume, for the new boardgame of the same name. You can see this in action at UKGE in May!
