Thanks. It’s wild looking back on it now.

This!
Is it wrong of me that this illustration looks like when my two kittens are playing? I just want to give the one on the ground some belly rubs and tell him he’s a good boy.
I was quickly spending much of my time trying to figure out if I could jump out the window and survive if they didn’t let me leave the flat. Eventually, let me go after agreeing we’d meet up at a particular tube stop. I spent the next day on the other side of London.
I neglected to ask such details. He and his friend spent a lot of time telling me how great it would be to live in a city like New Dehli.
As in making small talk.
He really was an exiled royal! I looked him up afterwards.
What’s a moment from your life, out of context, that’s straight from a movie?
Escaping the rain at a pavillion in Hyde Park. Start chatting with 2 gentlemen. Back at their flat, drinking a £500 bottle of wine, and getting an offer to abandon my PhD and become a kept woman for this exiled royal.
Karen Yin's The Conscious Style Guide isn't a phrasebook; it's a framework for thinking about equitable language as it evolves.
Here's my review of why it matters for writers and editors.

To clarify: there was a link to something on Wayback and on Archive. Neither worked.
Even that link failed!
Editing notes for a book and there is so much link rot. Over half the citations are to websites (close to 2/3 are) and of those, easily 1/3 of the links no longer work.
Making everything digital is not the way.

Thanks very much to @indexerscanada.bsky.social for an excellent conference over the weekend. I'm now itching to try indexing in LaTeX and it was great to hear about @asindexing.bsky.social's research in to AI and indexing (it doesn't do a good job) from Elizabeth Bartmess #IndexSky
Enjoying my first day of @indexerscanada.bsky.social online conference. I loved the brilliant keynote by @dannybate.bsky.social on ‘Who Ordered the Alphabet’. Surely several more copies of his ‘Why Q Needs U’ book now sold, including to the UK @indexers.bsky.social and me. #IndexSky
My brain went through the same contortions.
Ooh! Very nice.
…and ordered!
Awesome!!!
Ah, that nerve-racking time before a party (or in this case, conference) when you have everything ready but no one has shown up yet.
Love this metaphor. Earned a follow.
Getting really excited about the upcoming indexing conference from ISC/SCI. Can’t believe it’s starting tomorrow. Great line-up of speakers, including a keynote by @dannybate.bsky.social !

It’s my fault. They cancelled the parties after I won them all. Sorry ‘bout that.
Very cool! Congrats!

Despite (or because of?) current events, history is more relevant than ever. Thanks so much to @historyextra.bsky.social for the opportunity to share a different kind of history of disease

Yes, please.
Dear medievalist and medieval-curious friends, please help spread the good word about a new opportunity to enroll in the Advanced Certificate in Medieval Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. CUNY may not be rich, but we are uniquely rich in medievalists! www.gc.cuny.edu/events/medie... #medievalsky
Sounds really interesting!
Tempting.
