This is why I love exploring libraries, instruments, and the unpredictable noises of everyday life. You never know when that one sound will strike, sparking a cascade of ideas. Have you ever had a sound do that for you?
It’s as if the sound opens a door to the cue you’ve been waiting to write. Suddenly, you’re not staring at a blank session anymore, you’re following the breadcrumbs it’s leaving for you.
For me, these moments usually come from a sound that tells its own story. Some sounds carry a mood so powerful that they instantly suggest melody, harmony, and rhythm. It’s less about "composing" and more about listening to what the sound is asking you to do.
Sometimes, all it takes is one note to unlock a whole world of music. There’s a magic in discovering a sound so evocative, so perfectly in tune with your emotions or vision, that the music begins to write itself.
