Actually I love the extra level of depth Topo's oaka marks give her hair Here's hoping I can get some answers about where Topo came from, but it's more likely we'll just be enjoying the salmon festival in our game tonight! Drawn with pencil, colored with alcohol ink markers and gel pens, and finished with fineliners (and taped into my character journal)
New character art let's goooo

In order to change things up for dinner along the river, Topo wildshaped into a river otter to catch some fish! As an otter, Topo has a long patch of pink down her back, nearly to the end of her tail, to mimic her petal hair. Drawn with pencil, colored with alcohol ink markers, gel pen, and fineliners
Our party spent some time traveling along the river, so Topo has a new wildshape form: a river otter!
The party also learned that Topo has oaka marks through her hair, something that is exclusive to the elves of Obojima ๐ #artsky #obojima #traditionalart #dndcharacterart
Normalize laughing derisively in men's faces when they deserve it.
At the party this is going to, it will be hanging in a macrame-style rope rig, with the intent that it looks like another decoration. I will be listening for people talking about how pretty it is, and then I will get the pleasure of seeing the shock and despair when I gleefully get to tell them to destroy it
The structure is made of 7 open cardboard wedges, made solid with paper mache, and decorated with tissue paper and recycled grocery bags. I'm very eager to see how much of a beating this thing will take, because at 6 or 7 pounds, it is SOLID
If I could put this on a billboard, I would because LOOK at this piรฑata I made!! ๐
Also turns out it's actually super cathartic to make something beautiful with the intent to destroy it

I really love living next to the mountains to see cool shit like this on the daily
Finally Topo has a better armor class! This cabbage armor has the stats of scumweed armor from the Obojima book, but she got it from a cabbage merchant so it looks like she's wrapped in cabbage leaves! Drawn and colored with pencil, pen, and markers
Nipik Forr (npc4) was a bard who impressed the party with his ability to change his appearance to copy the party members, but Sabrina (a 13 year old witch) was so far from impressed Drawn in pencil
Level 5!
Topo got some new armor (cabbage leather...?), and the party met an โจinterestingโจ NPC on the road

Y'all remember Penn? The fox familiar I drew and posted a while ago? Well for a while I've been playing with the idea that, as a familiar, he could change forms... And I recently decided to add a big ole smilodon to the roster! He's got the same orange-ish coloration and glowy yellow markings as in his fox form, but now he's got big murder mittens :) A smilodon, or saber-toothed tiger. Drawn and colored with pens and white gel pen
Absolute travesty that animal companions in 5e are capped at CR 1/2, because a smilodon buddy would just be the best ๐ฅน

My 7 year old was watching me play Stardew Valley and called these "banana slice caterpillars" which is a much better name than what it had before

Our party found a small spirit shrine, and Topo decided to leave a letter to her guardian, Nesta. The letter was collected with other offerings, and now Topo is just waiting for a return letter! Drawn with pencil and black gel pen, colored with colored pencils and markers
How does a kid keep in touch with their spirit foster mom? Leave letters at shrines!

A pencil drawing of a man with pointed ears and horns. He's muscular, but like the guys who look ready to go out and fight bears, or the competitors in those strong man competitions. In the story he lives in, at the clinic he worked at he was the healer everyone turned to for combative patients, because he is Very Good at holding someone still. (Eva will deny it but she would contemplate getting combative just for him to pin her down ๐)
The hands are not the focus here, I just needed to draw my thicc boi Arthur bc I know I haven't really done him justice yet (more in alt)

Highly recommend wrapping an empty box with a hole cut from the side to make a cat present to set under the tree ๐๐ธ

Sometimes you gotta reference animated outfits because they're a lot more simple, ya know? This cute drawing of Jester Lavorre was made so I could test out a 12-pack of gel crayons I got, which are so much more versatile than I realized! Colored with gel crayons, lined with fineliners ๐ซฐ๐ป
Hello, I adore One (1) little blue tiefling ๐ญ

A "Book Wyrm" stamped design. Book Wyrm stamped in light blue underneath a dragon reading a book stamped in dark purple. The stamp designs are carved from 2 sides of a pink eraser!
I saw a shirt at a store that said "book worm" with a medieval style drawing of a dragon... That turned out to be AI. It got me so worked up I decided to make my own design! #artsky #stampcarving
Chakka (a red dara) with Topo (wildshaped into a rat) relaxing in a hot spring. Colored pencil, fineliners, and a white gel pen.
Our party got to Hogstone last session, and of course we spent most of the game in and around the hot springs!

I really like the visual of a ritual circle filling in the outline of a familiar slowly over the time it takes to cast. Wizard me, summoning Penn the fox familiar. Done in alcohol ink markers, gel pen, and fineliners.
Something about gel pens really makes glowy magic so much cooler

A preview of a little needle felted figure of Hornet, the main character from Silksong. The head is recognizably finished, with a clump of black cotton next to it for making the body. Admittedly, I don't know much about this game, except that she's small enough to use a needle as a sword. And I just know my son is gonna be over the moon about it when it's done!
My son put Hornet on his Christmas wish list, but why would I spend money on a stuffy when I can make him a life-size Hornet?

I already posted about Penn, but in this case he's featured as a wizard's familiar. He also has a new form, as a barn owl. My kid was asking about familiars, so I drew myself as a wizard (the headshot) as I explained it to her. Then, because I wasn't done with the dope wizard outfit, I drew an action shot. Wizard Cas, Owl Penn, and Fox Penn are colored with a multi-colored pencil, and the action shot is colored with the multi-colored pencil and gel pens, and all finished with fineliners. (There's also some space on the page dedicated to brainstorming pink eraser stamp designs, one of which is filled with a sketch of my tiefling druid, Topo)
Having some fun with a multi-colored pencil, and drew myself as a wizard โ๐ป

Got sick of working on this painting lying flat on the table, so I pulled some scrap wood out of the shed and made myself an easel! It's not perfect, and my arms are so sore, but I got it done ๐
An unfinished acrylic painting, a view of the moon rising over a sea framed by forested hills.
WIP wednesday and I'm showing off this painting that will be going in a baby's room ๐ I spent about 40 minutes on the moon alone, but I'm really happy with how it looks so far!

I got my 3d printer working again and I've been printing and painting a fairy garden kit! This is going to be a gift, and from the feedback I got from the kid's mom, the kid is going to LOVE it! ๐
This continent is called Andula. Or, depending on who you ask, the continent is the physical embodiment of the goddess Andula. Regional religion is still an area of study and still being compiled as a continent-wide encyclopedia. Drawn with fineliners on handmade paper, painted with watercolor brush pens, and given a distressed look with a brown ink pad. I have been giving this project a lot of loving attention, and I hope to write enough life within these shores to create a story worth telling to more people than just myself.
After learning how to make paper, I reserved a couple sheets with rough edges to use for maps, and I made this one of the area I'm developing for a story!

Penn is a fox, but small glowing spots along his spine, across his legs, and on the back of his ears indicate he's no ordinary fox. Sometimes when I'm doing my grocery shopping, I imagine the spots flashing a little brighter in time with whatever music I'm listening to. Drawn with alcohol ink markers and fineliners.
Reading The Golden Compass as a kid altered my brain chemistry, and I've always imagined my own dรฆmon with fondness. I don't know why it took me twenty years to actually draw him, but here's Penn!

Topo's latest wildshape form, a giant seahorse/leafy sea dragon. The main body is shades of pink, with fins going from pink to yellow to green. I used alcohol ink markers and fineliners โ๐ป
After spending the last week in costume-making crunch time for my kids, I finally got some time for my own art today ๐ฎโ๐จ I redid Topo's giant seahorse design so now she's much more colorful

Last session I realized that level 4 druids get to have swim speed wildshapes, so Topo can now turn into a Giant Leafy Sea dragon!
Drawn with pencil and ballpoint pens

My 4th grader has been making a lot of rainbow loom bracelets for classmates, and today I decided to try making a little axolotl. I'm so happy with how well it turned out, but it was definitely tricky!
I keep doing hands warmups when I should really figure out how to draw shoes and feet lol
Pen (left) and pencil (right)

I learned how to make paper today, and my kitty decided he needed to help me โค๏ธ
First two days of inktober, a frog wizard and a kid making a lil basket. These two are just done with pencil and fineliners.
I thought of a shrine quest in Breath of the Wild where you have to get a "crown" of bone to a certain spot, and the solution is to ride a stag there because of its antlers. Then this turned into some kind of lore-building drawing, like those old legends that seem impossible and fantastical at the same time. This stag carries the sun in his antlers to make sure villages get the light they need for a good harvest. Gel pens and fineliners.
I carved a bunch of stamps yesterday! I'm sad I used up all the erasers I had, but I'm glad of the break it'll force me to have since I'm really sore from my bad art posture ๐ Stamps (all handmade) and ink pad
I hardly ever do fanart, but this is for A Fate Inked in Blood. I burned through that book in like a day and a half and I'm impatiently waiting to read the next one (curses to the library waiting list...) Pencil, alcohol ink, and fineliners
October Art!
Some drawing prompts, some pink eraser stamps, and some fanartโmore details in the alt ๐ซฐ๐ป
