My goal is to just finish a sketchbook & figure out how to make art studies engaging for me. My goal is less posting more art online but just drawing in general…but who knows maybe I’ll like some stuff enough to share! That would be cool too

My main New Year’s resolution for 2026 is to draw more, for a lot of reasons I just kinda didn’t this year & while I think it can be healthy to step back from a hobby to focus on others if ur not feeling it, I felt sad not doing art…gonna bring it back now

This isn’t even “phone bad” commentary. I just find it sad I can often feel ppls social alienation n loneliness in how they seek human interaction on socmed bc modern society is often very isolating but instead we just get sites built to enable our worst impulses n cynicism for profit

Many instances where ppl hurting each other by going back n forth over Posts could’ve been just a neutral or even positive moment of understanding & connection of it wasn’t happening through social media. But outrage & reactions are Great for ad revenue unfortunately

Its kinda sad bc sure ppl will just sometimes misunderstand or project or just not get along but it’s also like, social media is best at eliciting reactions, not human connection. While the latter is possible thru socmed the range of human connection that can happen is often much thinner n fragile

everyone has their own traumas & wounds & triggers with emotional/interpersonal topics some ppl may see this & get very triggered bc idk someone in their life may have said a similar sentiment to justify emotionally neglecting them. So then you just get that online exclusive emotional clash

But like…it’s just especially rough with anything along the lines of “emotional wisdom/advice” bc u will have situations where ppl r just posting “remember it’s ok to prioritize yourself sometimes” as a self affirmation bc they just like, set a boundary w/ their abusive parent or something & bc

A lack of understanding for this + people who feel internally unstable & crave external validation for their emotions is the root of a lot of “hi ur post does not come with 50 disclaimers/if u don’t like pancakes u hate waffles” type sentiment online in my eyes

The thing to remember about any post on the internet thats about interpersonal/emotional stuff is you’re always seeing what ppl r saying completely removed from the context they are 99% either venting abt an anecdotal experience or being self reflective about where they personally are in their life
