Why does learning drop when tech enters the classroom? Because computers train kids to skim. Dr. Horvath warns that we are currently redefining education to fit our tools rather than designing tools to fit how our children actually learn.

The #DEEVA team (biom.obs-banyuls.fr/presentation...) proposes a PhD research project on the evolutionary modifications in the formation of the palps, the sensory and adhesive organ located at the anterior end of the #ascidian larvae.
If you wondered what ‘oidsks’ are - these belong to a species of ‘Haptomonitora typo-didae’. Can frequently be found on the world wide webs.
It was great meeting with a very pleasant atmosphere! Together with our befriended Spanish and Dutch Societies. Thanks to Salim Seyfried and the others for organizing it. Next time in Heidelberg...
Congratulations!!

Great work! Congratulations to the Arnone, Hinman and Maeso teams!
Our work on the evolution of the regulatory genome of echinoderms is now out in @natecoevo.nature.com. Led by my former PhD Marta Magri, Danila Voronov & Saoirse Foley. Great collaboration of Arnone, Hinman & Maeso labs, started long time ago with our missed José Luis Gomez-Skarmeta: rdcu.be/eXX8l
We observed that while gene activity groups cell type functionally, whereas CREs and regulatory seqs group them ontogenetically. E.g. mesenteric and tentacle retractor muscles, a dev convergence described by @alisongcole.bsky.social and @ulrichtechnau.bsky.social.

We are considering to change the name, but then we take a big risk and will loose our Impact factor for 2 years. The last 10 years FinZ has been ranked among the top 10 journals in the category Zoology.
I can only second this. BUT, what people often are not aware of: Frontiers in Zoology does NOT belong to the rest of the Frontiers in journals. It is the official journal of the German Zoological Society, a BMC journal and founded BEFORE the other Front in. We suffer a lot from this hijacking.
