Letter to Brendan Carr at the FCC
“The illegality of your authoritarian management of the FCC is exacerbated by the fact that this administration has asserted unprecedented executive branch control over this agency…”
Seems like a pattern across agencies, no?
Thank you for this @karlbode.com
“ "CEO said a thing!" journalism generally involves a press outlet parroting the claims of a CEO or billionaire utterly mindlessly without any sort of useful historical context as to whether anything being said is factually correct.”

Hi @jamellebouie.net
What’s the number Editorial Boards who have called for impeachment?
Answer: 1 @sentinelcolorado.com
Have you seen their editorial?

Illegal arrest of my friend @donlemonofficial.bsky.social is gross violation of the Constitution & laws
Magistrate rejected a criminal complaint & Judge Schiltz (conservative former Scalia clerk) said "no evidence of any criminal behavior"
@democracydefendersfund.org will help fight back!:
“The move toward more commentators telling you what to think about an America spiraling into chaos & fewer boots-on-the-ground journalists digging up what’s needed to fix that crisis—objective truth—couldn’t happen at a worse time…unfortunately this is not unique to CBS News.” @willbunch.bsky.social
Best video thumbnail ever? Only have 20 minutes to check in on the news? Public Enlightenment's Bluesky Lists have you covered. Pin them to your feed and get all the context you need to understand the news.
Don’t. Print. Lies. In. The. Newspaper.
The criticism was not “widespread” & the cited sources are all pro-Trump.
My husband and I just donated to the Media and Democracy Project (@fixmedianow.bsky.social). They work to hold media accountable. Whether you donate or not, check them out on Bluesky or at www.mediaanddemocracyproject.org

I've helped with legitimate news outlet turnarounds. What's happening at CBS News is anything but. The Ellison's have gift wrapped the news network for Trump. The fake 'internal injuries' story was just the start of the MAGA makeover. My latest: open.substack.com/pub/jennifer...

Parody by the @marshfamilysongs.bsky.social with a better sense of reality and seriousness of POTUS #Greenland #Denmark threats - than NYT, WSJ, WaPo.

“Stop calling Nick Shirley a journalist. He's a MAGA political operative [whose] viral video abt Minneapolis daycare centers ignited an explosive situation giving Trump excuse to launch largest ever ICE occupation of a US city.” @newsjennifer.bsky.social

Sarcasm about mainstream media's bothsiderism--whether they pretend that minor things Dems do are equivalent to awful things Republicans do. Most ppl are unaware of this as a form of subtle Right Wing bias in mainstream media.
DHS: Abolish ice
Important to be clear-eyed about what this FBI search means. The Trump administration is going after a journalist for doing journalism.
"A clear and appalling sign that this administration will set no limits on its acts of aggression against an independent press."
FWIW, traditional journalistic answers to Leavitt's question are things like "are you declining to answer the question?" or "this a press conference — I'm here to ask the White House questions" or "with respect, my readers don't care what I think about WH policy — they care what the WH thinks."
ICE kidnap 17-year-old U.S. citizen working at Target then dump him bleeding and crying miles away in a Walmart parking lot… 🤬
Grotesque abuse of power #KavanaughStop

Will any news orgs find this kid and tell his story? He will never be the same.
My Stop the Presses newsletter calls for more aggressive action by the media to be "radically truthful" and defeat the liars:
/ Correct *every* lie uttered on your platform.
/ Put Trump's remarks on tape delay for proper fact checks.
/ Cut off liars in mid-interview and ban them from your airwaves.
Murder on ICE and water.
The invasion of Venezuela and the invasion of Minnesota are one and the same bid for tribute and obeisance.

Being right about trump was boring, tedious, partisan, ideological. Being wrong about trump? Heterodox, contrarian, free thinking.
My CAP colleague Mike Sozan sounds the alarm on Trump's allies buying up media companies. It is distorting the information Americans receive and it makes the government far less accountable when more accountability has never been more important.
Big media mergers controlled by President Trump's allies and friends is bad news for the American people—CAP expert @michaelsozan.bsky.social breaks down why:
It is impossible to overstate the degree to which the entire national political media's coverage of the 2024 presidential campaign, especially once Harris won the nomination, was deeply, fundamentally, shamefully unserious about the stakes & the candidates.
The thing I will remember most about 2025 is that Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Russell Vought took live-saving medicine and food away from hundreds of thousands of sick and starving children, and this did not change the way the media and society in general regarded them in any significant way.
The mainstream media only talks to Trump voters. Even in a year where Democrats win election after election, the only voters they talk to are people who vote for Republicans www.nbcnews.com/politics/ele...
"Policies that strengthen independent news organizations, bolster local journalism, fund public media, and prohibit the concentration of media power in too few hands are not only possible – they are necessary for a functioning democracy."
@sulliview.bsky.social on US media has universal relevance.
