Will be the budget, I think. The duopoly of Starmer-McSweeney not understanding “don’t sack Lucy Powell, a well-liked and impressive organiser”, “don’t blunder into the Epstein row”, “the old right + depressed Blairites is not a sufficiently broad frontbench” will faceplant over child poverty.

A full day of playing with his buddies has left this old pooch cream crackered.

It's hard to escape the feeling that Corbyn has been boxed into this effort rather than being his own agent. He's been in the game long enough, he knows other outfits have sunk, mostly by their own internal divisions.

I'm also curious to see what impact it has on the PLP and the quite clear appetite from a not-insignificant number of MPs for a more popular left economic programme.

Personally, I think the 1997-2010 Labour Government served the country pretty darn well (with the notable exception of a disastrous foreign policy which destabilised the Middle East).

Labour can serve the country and also remain a broad church where dissent is tolerated.

Jimi Famurewa and Grace Dent could be an interesting combo.

The secret court that silenced the News Agents...until now YouTube video by The News Agents

Two governments took The News Agents to secret court for two years via a constitutionally unprecedented superinjunction to stop you from hearing this story.

The MoD is responsible for a data leak that put up to 100,000 Afghans at risk of death.

'Today' on Thursday had Justin Webb allow climate denial from a farmer of all people go completely unchallenged.

The farmer also had the nerve to complain about how hard the last few years have been.

Jeez, I wonder why farmers have struggled these past several years? 🤔

And this goes back to my point. If you were to take Tony Benn post-Wilson Cabinet and planted him now, most of those on the left would be damning of the guy based on his politics up to that point.

It depends on how you define 'left' but I would say on PIP, Gaza and trans rights, she's taken a distinctly 'left' position which aligns with the historical positions of the left-wing of the Parliamentary Labour Party. She didn't need to and could have just been 'lobby fodder' for the leadership.

Again, that's a legitimate point. I think it's right to call out errors in strategy and I don't think Creasy is an effective communicator but she's not the same pol she was pre-2020. I get that she's not atoned but bucking this current leadership on trans rights, Palestine + welfare is welcome.

That was always my original point and for that I've had a pretty crappy and crummy evening from people I probably have a great deal in common with.

But my point is someone can move left, even if you're not a fan of their previous actions or behaviours. I get the hostility towards Stella given previous actions but her actions in this Parliament look quite different.

That's a legit point you make. I think absolute loyalty to a leadership is crass. I wish more MPs gave Jeremy the space to prove himself but they didn't. I also think it's ridiculous Jeremy ever lost the Labour whip and the right to remain a Labour MP.

Wishing you all the best.

That is a genuine question rather than rhetorical

So folks dislike her independent of her antagonistic actions towards the Labour leadership circa 2015-2019?

For what it's worth JC is 4-0 on my voting record vs KS

I presume we both hate fascists.
I also presume we both hate transphobia.
I also presume we both hate the disgusting genocide happening in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank.
Yet, in your eyes, we're not on the same side?

That's fair enough, everyone has the right to revise their opinion.

She's actively called out the Israeli Govts' bullshit for starts. That's a pretty sizeable leftwards move, likewise on welfare reform.

Take care.

But it's OK to ask if someone is OK, right? That's all I did and hoped they had people around them if they weren't OK.

Let's just say, we never know what someone else is going through. I've offended you somehow and I'm sorry for that but I really hope you are ok.

No, the other person (I'm assuming they are a person) called me a d*ckhead, which I don't think is reasonable. I was just trying to end this conversation on a polite note.

I wish you well. Genuinely.

Ah, I see. You subscribe to a dim view of humanity. That's fine. Lots do. I just like to think that sometimes our better angels prevail.

That's good to know and thank you for sharing that with me.
