I'm looking for a new Lab Manager to join me, my amazing incoming PhD students @isabellafavalos.bsky.social and @maceygrisso.bsky.social, and our fantastic undergraduate RAs in the Emotional Lives Lab at UC Riverside.
Sharing would be much appreciated!

Thanks to everybody who chimed in!
I arrived at the conclusion that (1) there's a lot of interesting stuff about interactions and (2) the figure I was looking for does not exist.
So, I made it myself! Here's a simple illustration of how to control for confounding in interactions:>
Does anybody have a good visualization to explain how interactions can be confounded, and why interactions require interaction controls?
@urisohn.bsky.social maybe?
(Asking because I have an idea, but want to check out what exists already before investing the effort)
Congratulations, Jin!!!

Implementation of Schedule F
This is what a lot of us have been worried about.
This allows for many civil service positions to replaced with political appointees. This could include NIH institute directors and even POs.
BUT THERE IS A COMMENT PERIOD...

It feels weird to be promoting myself in the midst of *gestures wildly*, but I've been working on this project for a while and I'm super proud of it! One possible answer to the question of "What to do about the low reliability of task fMRI?" a 🧵 #neuroskyence #fMRI #Neuroimaging (1/11):
"OK, but how do I run a power analysis for a 𝟑-𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?" Happy to share that {InteractionPoweR} now supports 3-way interactions! Check it out using our new shiny app: david-baranger.shinyapps.io/InteractionP...
As a current clinical psychology PhD student (who has yet to do intership), I feel validated by the statement and fully believe in the utility of smaller incremental steps *alongside* ideas for more radical change. Compared to when I started grad school, this already seems like a notable shift.
Did you know that the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science sponsored a Summit on Clinical Science Training last May?
Now there's a gentle summary of the Summit!: psyarxiv.com/qaykf

Hi! I’m not sure, but when I experienced something similar, I pinged after a month and learned that the manuscript had been accidentally stuck in some sort of journal limbo…so I’m all for pinging sooner than that 🤷♀️
Sharing this R resources database with y'all! For the past 4 years, I have been accumulating resources (mainly free ones) for new & advanced #Rlearners in their programming journey. Feel free to share!

Laura presenting a poster at the society for research on psychopathology. She has a poster board behind her, she is wearing an orange blazer with black checkering, an olive green shirt, a gold necklace, a blue mask, and a name tag.
On the faculty job market! My research aims to enhance cognitive control by studying: (1) What mechanisms underlie willingness to engage cognitive effort? (2) How is willingness to exert effort affected in psychiatric disability? (3) How can we increase willingness to engage effort? #PsychSciSky 🧠
Hi #AcademicSky #PsychSciSky people! I am a recent transplant from the bad place and also a 5th year clinical psych grad student at UMN (applying for internship)! I research suicide, development, and stress processes in young people with a particular focus on Native American youth. Happy to be here!
I like it!!
I made a feed (I think?)! Use #addictionsci for all things addiction science.
The final version of our tutorial paper on power analyses for interactions is now live at Psych Science AMPPS journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/... Huge thanks to collaborators @drlynam.bsky.social Tom Olino, Colin Vize, Megan Finsaas, and Brandon Goldstein.
Haha yes it seems so, glad I finally got over here! And we absolutely do! Would love to chat sometime (RSA?) 🙂
Hi Cassie! Big fan of your work and account on the “other” place :)
Hello #PsychSkySci! I'm a clinical psychology PhD student at WashU St Louis. I'm interested in the longitudinal development of AUD in relation to comorbidity and genetics, as well as the genetic and phenotypic structure of psychopathology. Looking forward to connecting with folks here!
