Cut the Cost - Keep Britain Moving Liberal Democrats are calling for an emergency transport package to keep Britain moving, cutting the cost of travel for people – whether by car, train or bus.

It’s only the Lib Dems with a real plan to protect people from Trumpflation and cut fuel prices, rail fares and bus prices

Back our plan to bring down the cost of living and protect British families.

With inflation up and BBC reporting insider trading, @libdems.org.uk want to see the Govt help struggling households & business using increased tax take from higher energy prices. Buses, trains, vans and cars - we need to keep people and goods moving

I am deeply proud that Bath is a double inscribed World Heritage Site. It's truly an amazing city.

It was great to meet with the World Heritage Sites All-Party Parliamentary Group to discuss the future of our world heritage sites, including whether a national strategy is needed.

〓〓 🚨 Last night in Parliament I made it very clear: Cornwall says NO to any Devon / Cornwall merger.

I stood up to speak on behalf of my constituents on the English Devolution Bill, in which the Government has made no legal protections for Cornwall whatsoever. 👎

900 skilled staff to work in GP surgeries.

900 skilled staff to work in GP surgeries.

After nineteen years, the SNP cannot be trusted to help staff or patients. This is a party that hired less than 1 in 10 of the GPs they promised in 2017.

We would embed 900 specialist staff to work alongside GPs and help manage patient need.

🗣 "Britain should be a world leader in tackling dirty money, but we have to get our own house in order"

While billions slip through the cracks, families in Norfolk are dealing with crumbling schools, stretched health services, & roads full of potholes.

Fix the system. Fund our future.

Really pleased Betchworth Water Tower is back in service, ahead of schedule and after £600k of work by SES. I asked SES to fix the tower after people told me about frequent water outages at a village hall event. Thank you to SES.

I had a lovely moment this morning putting a few stitches into a section of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Its historic loan to the UK is extraordinary.

Great to see The British Museum leading a fantastic nationwide programme to bring the story of the tapestry to communities across the UK.

Honiton & Sidmouth MP turns the heat up on sacked foreign office boss Olly Robbins Sacked foreign office boss Olly Robbins has been grilled by the MP for Honiton & Sidmouth Richard Foord over Peter Mandelson's failed vetting checks.

Asking questions of former Foreign Office chief, Olly Robbins, yesterday at the Foreign Affairs Committee, about the scandal surrounding the appointment to the post of US Ambassador, of known Epstein friend, Peter Mandelson.

It was quite a day.

Trumpflation is ballooning the cost of living - yet it’s been cheered on by Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage.

We Lib Dems are renewing our calls on the government to slash fuel prices, train and bus fares and EV street charging costs too.

Unbelievable.

Not content with appointing Mandelson as US ambassador despite his links to Epstein, Starmer tried to appoint another man with a known friendship with a sex offender.

When is the Prime Minister finally going to take some responsibility?

Earlier I met with the Electrical Contractors’ Association to discuss the decline in people starting electrical apprenticeships - which has fallen 5.5%.

Our drive to decarbonise Britain relies on skilled electricians. We must reverse this trend to keep building the workforce needed for the future.

The Camden Lib Dems are now on Bluesky! We look forward to using this platform to let you know what we've been up to. Ahead of Camden Council elections on the 7th May, we thought it right that our first post should be to share our manifesto - our key commitments for a Lib Dem run Camden Council 🧡

Whatever the outcome of the Mandelson scandal, it has exposed serious failings in the way the system works.

I pushed the PM on this yesterday - and safe to say the response wasn't enlightening!

This whole Mandelson mess started with Starmer trying to flatter and appease Trump.

If the Prime Minister had stood firm with our allies instead, he might not be in this mess now.

The Herald.

Scottish election area 'most difficult to call' according to pollster

The Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency was created for the 2011 election.

All of the constituents who spoke to The Herald believe it will be a close contest between the SNP and the Liberal Democrats, a party which once dominated the area.

The SNP's Drew Hendry had been the favourite to win the Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire constituency in the 2024 UK general election.

However, Liberal Democrat Angus Macdonald secured the new seat with a majority of 2,160 votes.

The Herald 20th April 2026.

Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch is two horse race between the Liberal Democrats and the SNP.

Only by backing local Liberal Democrat Andrew Baxter can you beat the SNP and deprive John Swinney of a majority.

Fascinating at the Herbie’s Law event to learn more about the “organ-on-a-chip” technology which could rapidly replace many experiments on animals, reducing harm to them and allowing human tissue to be used which is more effective

Jennie has her arms crossed

2,637,578 'procedures' using animals were carried out in British laboratories throughout 2024. But experiments on animals cannot accurately predict whether new drugs will be safe for humans.

I discussed Herbie's law in Parliament today, which would phase out animal experiments in medical research.

The Liberal Democrats have a proud record in Wales. We are active in communities across the country, fixing local issues that matter.

I’m so proud of our Welsh team, who are fighting to tackle river pollution and to extend free childcare.

On May 7th, vote @WelshLibDems!
