Whatever the outcome of the Mandelson scandal, it has exposed serious failings in the way the system works.
I pushed the PM on this yesterday - and safe to say the response wasn't enlightening!

The Herald. Scottish election area 'most difficult to call' according to pollster The Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency was created for the 2011 election. All of the constituents who spoke to The Herald believe it will be a close contest between the SNP and the Liberal Democrats, a party which once dominated the area. The SNP's Drew Hendry had been the favourite to win the Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire constituency in the 2024 UK general election. However, Liberal Democrat Angus Macdonald secured the new seat with a majority of 2,160 votes. The Herald 20th April 2026.
Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch is two horse race between the Liberal Democrats and the SNP.
Only by backing local Liberal Democrat Andrew Baxter can you beat the SNP and deprive John Swinney of a majority.
In 2018, Merton Liberal Democrats went to court to save Wimbledon police station when the Mayor of London was trying to close it. Now, both Mitcham and Wimbledon police stations are at risk once again.

2,637,578 'procedures' using animals were carried out in British laboratories throughout 2024. But experiments on animals cannot accurately predict whether new drugs will be safe for humans.
I discussed Herbie's law in Parliament today, which would phase out animal experiments in medical research.
