ICE is obsessed with little kids. They consistently targeted schools at times children were being dropped off or picked up to inflict maximum cruelty. And in the article they continue to lie about it.
Abolish ICE and start prosecuting all these creeps.

After recovering from another successful convention this weekend, my campaign for CD5 DFL Chair continues. And my website is now live. In the coming weeks, I'll continue to reach out to delegates and alternates to the CD5 convention.🧵

ICE is still here just not with the same size and media attention, but still operating lawlessly trying to terrorize our community. Make sure you’re still plugged into local networks so you’re able to help when needed.
Last night’s ICE abduction near 20th & Central didn’t happen in a vacuum. Friday morning they were found stalking people at Huset Park and earlier in April they kidnapped someone near East Phillips community center.
Shocking that I responded tonight and didn’t see any of the former council presidents signing onto op-eds questioning Elliott’s leadership out there. I would’ve thought those impeccable leaders would’ve made it out to try and help their neighbors but I guess not.
Ice is still here just operating in different ways, like doing kidnappings on a Sunday night at 10 PM. Make sure you’re still connected to hyper local networks so you’re able to respond when neighbors need help.
Someone was taken near 20th & Central tonight at 10 PM. Within 5 minutes, there were over 20 people on a call and even more people on foot in the area to respond.
Thank you so much to these incredible elected officials for all they did and are continuing to do for our community, but let’s also take a moment to appreciate @doronclark.bsky.social ‘s top tier ‘Disappointed Dad’ energy here. 😂
I would. I feel like a lot of the people (like me) who started following you from Dane’s pod probably would as well.
Making daily videos during an occupation leads to some bloopers.
spontaneous “josh! josh! josh!” chant for @joshmartinmpls.bsky.social who did so much today
Incriminating evidence against Jason Chavez left on a Doron Clark sign
Left on the @doronclark.bsky.social sign too 🫣
caught: jason chavez leaving the minneapolis DFL convention with his badge! doron clark innocent
@jchavezmpls.bsky.social @doronclark.bsky.social
after julie le, a former DHS lawyer now running against ilhan omar for cd5, finishes her speech, the convention starts a “fuck ICE!” chant
I’ve banged this drum before but I will bang it again: her cute little line about her job sucking? She made it more than once in front of a judge AND she made that “joke” again as part of her speech today. It is NOT FUNNY when her job was supposed to be getting immigrants out of illegal detention
jason chavez says we need to elect delegates on caucus night because it makes it easier for neighbors with different schedules. childcare needs etc. shouldn’t be shut out of the process because they can’t come to the ward convention
liam davis temple motions that we still elect city delegates at caucuses not at ward conventions. ward conventions are a fixed number of people and not open to democracy to limit the pool
Subsection C - Substantive Change The committee proposed that in odd years, delegates are elected to the ward conventions at precinct caucuses, and delegates to the city convention are elected at the ward conventions. This is a conforming change to remain consistent with the changes in Subsection A.
I hope to see you at the Minneapolis DFL Convention tomorrow.
I could not be more opposed to the proposed changes to stop electing city delegates at caucuses. Electing them at Ward conventions that have dramatically less turnout than caucuses will disincentivize grassroots organizing. 1/
Frey-isms - Everything is zero sum/constantly seek more power/surround with malleable supporters who provide adulation, misinformation, filters of reality & ego recompense/avoid responsibility at all cost/take credit for all positive events, especially those of others/remind you of anyone else…?
* Under Commissioner Barnette's supervision, MPD overspent their budget by nearly $20 million dollars. Commissioner Barnette concedes this oversight was due to the lack of engaged conversations with MPD leadership, and that he was not aware of the overspend until the third financial quarter of 2025. It is unacceptable for the City's senior leadership to make the kind of mistakes that come at a direct expense for taxpayers while undercutting the delivery of services. * City workers (AFSCME Local 9 ) in the departments under Commissioner Barnette’s oversight sent a letter describing his leadership which is disqualifying. * Under the leadership of Commissioner Barnette, the City Council was asked to approve contracts with an individual who disrupted a council meeting, hurled homophobic remarks at me, and made threats. * During Commissioner Barnette's tenure, council members received several complaints from contractors for lack of communication, delay in contract execution, and clarity on the broader strategy for violence prevention, for which they were selected to play a role. * Commissioner Barnette was absent and often unengaged from the work of Commissioner. He had a hard time answering questions the Council and the public had. He often seemed, and acknowledged, that he was uninformed about the ongoing work and issues of many of the departments he oversees. As Chair of the Public Health, Safety, and Equity Committee, I have had more direct engagement with the Office of Community Safety than nearly any other member of this Council. What I witnessed over the course of Commissioner Barnette’s tenure was a pattern of disengagement that left departments without direction and residents without answers. I am calling on Mayor Frey to establish a search committee effective immediately so that the Office of Community Safety can focus on rebuilding. Sincerely, Jason Chavez
Dear neighbor,
I wanted to tell you about why I voted against reappointing Commissioner Toddrick Barnette, and why Mayor Frey’s characterization of that vote is wrong and disingenuous. 1/
Last term, Council President Payne led the most productive council in recent history. We aren’t stopping this term either. Progressives are delivering.
I don’t want to hear about a lack of “priorities” when progressives are the only ones bringing policy and solutions forward. 2/
As a result of the mayor’s politically motivated & misinformation laced statements, we as council members had to compile a memo of our substantive reasons on why we did not confirm Mr. Barnette: lims.minneapolismn.gov/Download/Fil...
This is all just a set up. Most productive council in history, most diverse, and people who just work really hard for our neighbors. We get made to be punching bag to tee up for the charter amendment on the ballot to strip council power and in turn constituent power. Don’t fall for it.
There is a lot of talk about re-appointment of city officials, so I wanted to talk about it. I voted against re-appointing Public Safety Commissioner Barnette because I take my role of oversight seriously, and we deserve leaders who are tracking and being responsible with taxpayer dollars.
this op-ed IMO reveals a deeper truth about moneyed interests in local politics: they are fundamentally opposed to the idea that these are real jobs, they see them as sinecures. Results don't matter. Jenkins contributed to this op-ed and her own constituent, Davis Moturi, isn't even mentioned.
I’m thankful that the council presidents who think “leadership” means giving Mayor Frey whatever he wants are *former* council presidents. (1/4

I was agnostic on Barnette before, but the more the self-serving closed circle of power and influence in this city move heaven and earth to protect him, the more suspicious I am, and the more I want the council to reject his nomination, as many times as it takes. (2/4)
