Also whoever designed it to be a single piece that you can't replace without taking apart the seat frame, (or cutting it in half... Again... And gluing it back once assembled in the seat...) you should be ashamed.

Oh, and I fixed my BMW seat motor! @bmw idk who designed the plastic seat motor mount on the F series cars.... Be for real. Forums are littered with folks who have dropped a water bottle under their seat and cost themselves thousands of dollars... But! I super glued mine and it works great!
I also printed out a replacement to my drain-access-plug, but made it "low profile" bc the last one got smacked by the lawnmower! Fun little project. Ignore the... Suggestive nature of the photo with the tool I made...
Some fun updates...
Good friend of mine asked me to be a groomsman in the most Jos way: send me a tiny toolbox full of tools and a handmade Wera tool-holder. Also he gave me a "ceramic deburring tool" and it's actually sick, never thought I'd need one but I've already used it multiple times!
Oh, I did get a Zebra printer recently and it's probably the most overkill thing I don't need but man I'm pumped. Home networking has been really getting me excited lately and it'll be hooked up to the ever expending Ethernet spiderweb in the house.
No major update today. I've been thoroughly enjoying all the latest videos from Benn Jordan, and good ole Technology Connections.
Compost is now up to 3 large piles, thinking about getting a Polestar 2 bc wow what a deal, and I'm excited to work on the backyard using Permaculture concepts.
Oh, omg and I underclocked Emi's PC since it was being thermally throttled constantly in the slim SFF case it was in -- HUGE improvement!! like a 5% loss in performance, but it's silent now! i9 processor and a 3080 both underclocked are working wonders. If you want a quiet PC, you HAVE to try it.
I think that's about it -- Looking forward to the warmer months and working in the yard more! I think we're going to try and re-do the backyard this year so we can host and install a fence for Sunny. She's great now though and we can let her our and she stays nicely within the visual yard edges!
It's based directly off of this model, so all credit for original dims and the gate design goes to Shoooo!

I will say though, I'm hella proud of the model being fully* parametric and using mates to allow any arrangement of male/female ends and gated or non-gated ends.

P1S is working like a charm still, and I've had some fun projects there! Friend/coworker wanted to make a custom workshop vacuum system. I originally just printed pre-made stuff, but he wanted some T splitters instead of Y splitters, and I got to have fun in OnShape. No pics of the final product :(
Garage and basement storage looks sick tho! So pumped to have nice heavy duty shelving for misc shit. Probably not good to the 'me-keeping-too-much-shit-economy' but alas... That's a tomorrow problem for now.
Project updates! I got new garage storage, upgraded the hot-end on the P1S, and almost all our plants have died :)
Every time I take a plant out of our hydroponic seed-starter -- it will die. We had SUCH a nice rosemary plant, got way too big, mom put it in a nice pot -- dead.
Can we pass a law against @microsoft.com forcing me to click through 10 ads every time there's a minor Win11 release?! No, I still don't want O365, the mobile app, OneDrive, "recommended settings" (enabled ads + Edge), "Share your interests", etc...
Hardest part was using 12Ga wire bc it's on a 20A circuit, and then putting that through the waterproof conduit since it's not in an enclosed space.
We have an outlet under the sink in our island for the dishwasher and disposal on its own circuit, what better place to pull another outlet for this low-power vacuum? Pics tell most of the story. First time using the Wago connectors and they're great. Fully rated as well.
New outlet, who dis! Another thanksgiving project this year was adding a hidden outlet for our lil robot vacuum Lightning McClean. I'm welcome to feedback on the wiring, I think I did it fairly well but I'm not a pro.
I ended up making it a little too large so it's a hair loose, and I think that the final ID of the Venturi tube is too large, so I might tighten that up when I print one for my dad who has the same blower. Here's a bunch of pics of the thing. Before/after videos were... Meh. Can't really tell.
Snapchat screenshot with text "Making blower accessories" and a 3D CAD model behind. Grey jet engine style funnel with 5 wings connecting it to the primary nozzle. 4 wings visible. Clip and slot showing how it snaps to the blower.
I forget what got me on the idea, but I couldn't find any non-generic Venturi 3d prints for my Greenworks 80V blower. Pulled up OnShape and started going crazy with the calipers on the existing "nozzle" that clips onto the end.
Blower Venturi Attachment in 3d printer. Supports look like organic trees sprouting to hold it in place.
Venturi Attachment on blower coming from bottom of screen. Long grass with leaves in background behind.
Been about 5 months, time for a new 3D printing post! Thanksgiving weekend brought us:
Venturi Blower Attachment!
I'm pretty excited about the result even if it's not "revolutionary" in the difference vs stock. Here's the spoiler, details below.
Emi has been getting notifications of "trending news" articles that are about a video game she's been playing, but turn out to be a link to an AI search for a "news headline" that's completely fake. Made up characters in games, made up updates/DLC... It's bizarre.
Oh I guess you can only attach 4 pics... Blue sky, you gotta warn me when I select 8!
Lo and behold, grass started to grow! Crazy what happens when you actually use seeds... But I'm absolutely obsessed with my little 1' x 5' patch of thick grass. Pics attached of the progress over about a month! ๐ #grass #barfgrass #toiletpapergrass #dumbass
Literally the moment I opened the bag of seed I knew my fuck up. The "Lawn Starter" I bought was ONLY fertilizer, and all the "grass" I grew was just hay. No wonder it got crazy tall and sprouted little hay seed stalks.....
Threw down my barf patch of toilet paper and seed and also seeded the yard
I gave it a few weeks but eventually got some more grass seed at Costco after watching tic-tacs of the lawn guy mixing water, TP, and grass seed and it worked like a charm! How cool! I can try that on a particularly bad patch where the dirt was eroding!
Watered the hell out of the yard for another week, but damn if barely anything came up! There was so tall grass starting to grow, but nothing like my neighbor!
Went to Lowe's and saw the contractor bag but also saw this larger even cheaper bag of "lawn starter" and I assumed it was a mix of grass seed and fertilizer which seemed ideal! Got it, bought a spreader, went crazy, basically emptied a 40lb bag of it all over the yard.
My neighbor just laid down seed and his was coming up within a few days of watering it so I knew that I needed to put some fresh seed down and he recommended the contractor bag since neither of us care much about what kind of grass so long as it grows. I'm focused on preventing erosion for now.
Double blog post: Grass! I have to share this absolutely dumbass story bc I think it's hilarious...
We bought a house recently and the backyard supposedly was seeded already but it was just straw laid out when we moved in. I watered it for a week or so but nothing really came up.
