Handy that the person who could definitively answer this question - McSweeney - has magically got a job abroad

One more to come then
Let me guess "How useful have you found our email updates?"
They're not doing it properly then
Tssk...
Many years later
the story resurfaces
In a eulogy.
The gathering laugh
at the trouble that boredom
caused. Rest In Peace Sir.
Bored lecturer
Tells the class "Three types of peer -
Hereditary,
Life and Seaside" which
they dutifully write down.
No one spots the joke.
At the end of term
External Examiners
review exam scripts.
Yes, they spot the joke.
It takes a good lunch and beer
but no one fails.
Except that, at the end of labour you've got something(one) you'll love forever
I know right, should obviously be criminals...

To the last few who still insist "solar power isn't viable in the UK" it is currently providing close to 30% of demand in the UK - despite 14yrs of Conservative dogma which opposed the roll-out renewables (though it continued anyway - because it's a no-brainer economically).
Wind 32%

Oh how far we've come from John Profumo and Christine Keeler, Clinton and a blow job, to everyone in power probably fucked a kid so what?
The Venn Diagram of "folk who play Mornington Crescent" and "folk who play Stick" is simultaneously a single circle and two circles about a metre apart. Schroedinger's Venn Diagram as it were.
Thank you 🙂
Happy 90th birthday to Glen Campbell.
This stripped down version of WICHITA LINEMAN brings Glen to tears at the end, as it should have. From 2003.
Somebody has to do this
"Mornington Crescent"
Medium size banana lying beside the stone for scale. The banana is marginally longer than the stone.
Neolithic Murder Weapon with banana for scale
A black stone, teardrop shaped. A shard of the rock has chipped off contributing to a sharp edge and point at the bottom.
I found this at Robin Hood's Bay in 1974. Obviously it's not a #Hillfort, nor is RHB, but I wanted to ask #ArchaeologyBluesky what day do we show our examples of Neolithic Murder Weapons?
Now Keir Starmer has answered his question.
Let’s turn to Nigel Farage
1. Who paid for your house?
2. Why did you say the same as Nathan Gill who is in prison for taking bribes?
3. Have you paid for that Street’s energy Bills?
4. Has Dickie Tice paid his tax bill yet?

Shhhh....
A teardrop shaped black stone. A fossilised ammonite is set into the upper aspect
Up at the hill fort Inspector Gorse weighs the evidence...
File under 'Oh dear. What a shame. Never mind.'
When I was 11 I found an ammonite at Robin Hood's Bay. It's set into a stone that is the right weight and shape to make a good defensive weapon should the need arise. There's a short story in there somewhere...
How did McSweeney get his new job? The one that takes him safely outwith the reach of Parliamentary Committees, in Ukraine?
I'm just relieved nobody is talking about how I said I bought a house in Clacton, then admitted it was in the name of my girlfriend, Laure Ferrari, even though she couldn't afford £885,000, which conveniently meant I avoided £44,000 in tax.
Please don't share.
I've lived in Edinburgh for 30+ years and never really clocked this as something I'd like to do. Fab photo, added to the list 🙂
An old monochrome picture postcard showing one end of a grand entrance hall, with grand archways, staircases and brickwork. Printed on the card is East End of Hall, University of Liverpool
Here's a #HigherEducationPostcard of @liverpooluni.bsky.social
This is one of a series of fundraising postcards produced in the 1920s, showing the campus as they hoped it would become
