This is a really clear yet meaty interview with @mark-bray.bsky.social about the actual tactics and history of antifa movements. Will be sharing with students! www.cbc.ca/radio/frontb...

This week, our colleague Dr. Mark Bray came under attack by Turning Point USA’s Rutgers chapter for his public scholarship. Rutgers AAUP-AFT and the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union condemn this campaign and stand in solidarity with our colleagues. Read our full statement here: https://loom.ly/BDXasRY
Spoke with cnn while sitting on the floor of my hotel room hallway bc my family were asleep in the other room.
Per multiple reports, as of June, 70% of the people ICE has arrested have no criminal history. What ICE is doing is meeting their DAILY QUOTA of arresting 3,000 people, which is a disgusting quota set by the White House. This has included US citizens, green card holders, & those protected by DACA.
In this time of increased attacks on higher ed and the erasure of marginalized histories, I’m heartened to know I’ve been able to successfully share knowledge and resources with our students in ways that are meaningful to them.
I hope they go into the world & do the same, and better, for others. 💫
The testimonials from Dr.
Scorsone’s students are among the most moving and affirming I’ve read as chair of the department... Dr. Scorsone’s teaching is not only excellent; it is transformative.”
The award states, “Dr. Scorsone has demonstrated excellence wherever they have taught, exemplifying the very best of undergraduate teaching at Rutgers University...
I’m so honored to receive the 2025 Rutgers-Newark SASN Dean’s Undergraduate Teaching Award!
This is def one of the best awards I’ve ever been given tied with awards I got from Newark’s LGBTQ+ community. 💜 I’m truly honored that my RUNB & RUN students wrote such kind letters in support of me 🥹
Watching Mamdani’s speech now and it’s so powerful and uplifting. So happy he won!! 🥹🥳
Meanwhile we teargas protesters in Los Angeles and haul off men waiting for work outside Home Depot. We have so many good things we could be doing—that’s part of what breaks one’s heart.”

“There are thirty million acres of cornfield in the U.S. that are used for growing ethanol, and in the process providing about one percent of our energy needs. Scientists estimate those thirty million acres, covered in solar panels, would provide all the power the country requires…
I’m so honored & excited to be accepted as a post-doctoral fellow for the 2025-2026 Rutgers Center for Historical Analysis (RCHA) seminar on “Black Power and White Supremacy: The Cyclical Dialectics of Power!” Led by the amazing Dr Kimberly Butler & Dr Leslie Alexander! 💜

Very! I miss Nancy Cantor 😩
She watched Roots in grammar school and was “consumed with Black culture.” It destroyed her. Made her unchristian. Full of the devil.
Yesterday was my hooding ceremony at @rutgersgsn.bsky.social! I will always look back at grad school as one of best times of my life. I got to work on Queer Newark, HAL, and most importantly meet some of the most brilliant, warm, funny, and supportive people in the world!! Love my RUN fam!! 💜🥳🥂
Hahah, thanks for these!! I’ve actually watched the second channel before! But only one of their videos so far. I’ll be sure to check these out. 💜
Free Mayor Ras Baraka!! He wasn’t even trespassing. This is cruel theater.
I’m watching additional video and the woman in the red jacket at the ICE facility in Newark who tried to stop ICE from arresting Ras Baraka and was shoved and pushed and assaulted is my rep, LaMonica McIver.
Abominable.
Robert Menendez Jr: They feel no weight of the law … And that was shown in broad daylight today when they not just arrested the Mayor of Newark but when they put their hands on two members of congress standing behind me. How is this acceptable? To anyone in this country? How is this acceptable?
This after ICE physically ripped a mother and her baby apart in Massachusetts while she screamed in terror.
These are gifts I just got from one of my #publichistory students! One is an album from my favorite band (Sleater-Kinney) AND, most importantly, he gave me a USB drive that contains an archived version of the Queer Newark Oral History Project’s website so the government can’t ever erase it!! 🥹💜
