I was quoted in this great little article on Solarpunk by Mary Woodbury in the spring issue of Ecology & Action Magazine, alongside some wonderful solarpunk editors and writers. So cool to see the different perspectives on what this genre & movement means to different people!
I just finished Ivy Grimes' THE CELLAR BELOW THE CELLAR and absolutely loved it. Creepy, absurd, and poignant. Recommended for fans of weird fiction with complex themes and lots of voice.
Publishers Marketplace deal report: They Call the Place Wild, by Rae Mariz. The text reads "Kanaka maoli / Hawaiian diaspora author of WEIRD FISHES and THE UNIDENTIFIED, Rae Mariz’s THEY CALL THE PLACE WILD, pitched as Richard Power’s THE OVERSTORY meets Grimm’s fairytales and Slavic folkore, in which a young Belarusian girl searches for her sister in the Białowieża Forest—the last old-growth forest in Europe—only to discover that the folk from ancient tales have taken refuge there due to the destruction of their habitat and distortion of their stories, to Marissa van Uden at Violet Lichen Books, in a nice deal, for publication in 2027 (World English)."

We can't wait to bring you this beautiful new novella by @raemariz.bsky.social, slated for publication in early 2027!
"Recommended for fans of slice-of-life, elegantly melancholic horror that builds on folk, Gothic, and cosmic elements to form a portrait of one woman's struggle to come into a power that she both longs for and fears." 🌌

Cover of What a Fish Looks Like. Features a glorious mermaid holding a fish with human legs on a spacey-sea background.
Book 58 💙📚: What a Fish Looks Like by Syr Hayati Beker. This is a very strange cli-fi novella that should probably be on your radar if you're a Hugo voter. Recommended by @chloroformtea.bsky.social.
