Another interesting thrift find. "The Sinking of the Titanic Game" from 1978. The board features the titular ship that you move through as it sinks and supplies/passengers fall into the ocean. Really unique board.

"woke2", "dark woke", etc... Everything is treated like a joke and meme.
Today's thrift find is one of my favorite type; completely random and obscure. "Run, Aminals, Run!!" is about Taiwanese endangered animals fighting over resources for survival. Complete with a grim "animal graveyard" component. Very interesting. Can't wait to try this one out. #boardgames
This month's #boardgames roundup. Concordia is right up our alley. Beautiful. I was very reluctant about Duel for Middle Earth as I have zero interest in the theme, but love 7WD so I pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. Worlds Fair is one the "cleanest" designs I've ever played. #bgstats
I never judge a book by its cover when it comes to #boardgames, or card games in this case, and these are both great examples of why. Sweet Takes is a retheme of the infamous Gummi Trick, and Piggy Piggy is a shockingly good take on area majority/set collection.
Another month, another very mixed bag. #boardgames #bgstats
Brass Birmingham
Castles of Burgundy
A Feast for Odin
Agricola
Khora: Rise of an Empire/Hadara (tie)
Istanbul
Orléans
Power Grid
Troyes
Clank!/Dominion/Star Realms(another tie, yeah I'm a cheater)
Heavy hitters on deck for tonight 💪🏿 "Heavy hitters" as in I barely feel like thinking but want to get some games in before bed. Also Trapper Keeper Game is criminally underated. I'll die on that hill.

"There's no comfort in the growth zone, and no growth in the comfort zone".
The ultimate small box table hog. Castles of Burgundy the Card Game. One of my favorites and really scratches the itch of it's big brother.

Latest thrift find. I've always wanted to try some of the other TTR maps, but don't get it to the table enough to justify the purchase. But once we saw this we couldn't pass it up. #boardgames
One of the more unique games I own. Kickstarted a few years ago primarily for my true crime fan wife. The game itself is a solid 5/10 but they knocked the theming and packaging out of the park. From the box itself to the evidence bag to the "trophy" drivers licenses. #boardgames
Gamers are concerned about and will gladly raise a stink over real issues like black people and clothed women existing in video games. /s
Age of Civilization is an unbelievably tight worker placement game. 6 rounds and 30 minutes. Perfect for when I want something a little more substantial than Mint Works, but not a full on big box game experience. I'm horrible at it but love every minute.

It happened often, but no one quite filled up my wishlist like Feld after playing CoB. Amerigo, Trajan, Carpe Diem..
I came in without touching either. From all my research the consensus seemed to be that Lancashire was better for two(this is definitely one just for my wife and I), but was also the more "cut throat" of the two. For that reason I decided to go with Birmingham, but could definitely see owning both.
Well deserved!
I doubt I'll get any more play time this month, so I can safely put this one in the books. Thug Life was found thrifting and looked too absurd to pass up. It's surprisingly close to being decent. And, oh baby, the hype is real with Brass. I'm in love.

I could watch the running towards the castle scene over and over. It never gets old and is hilarious every time.
Good to know, I appreciate the reply.
This looks incredible. Power Grid is one of my favorite games. Unfortunately this looks extremely hard to find. Was there an American release?
An obscure thrift store find: The Current Number of the Beast from 2012. A pretty simple dice manipulation game, but I'm a big fan of the art work. It gives me such a nostalgic mid 2000s feeling for something that I can't quite pinpoint...

Yeah we watched it happen about ten months ago.
If they are "insignificant" to the game, why not use one of the multiple free use asset libraries that exist? AI isn't the only option.
The youtube video for "educational purposes" was the icing in top. Well done!
Ticket to Ride was starting to be called "the new monopoly". Now I see Catan called "the new Ticket to Ride". Much like music, board games suffer from the "it's popular/accessible to more people so it sucks now" way of thinking.
A few years ago I created this Love Letter Serial Killer variant for my wife on Valentine's Day. After a playthrough with it tonight, I'd really like to revisit it and create a "second edition". #boardgames #loveletter #truecrime
Monthly #boardgames roundup. Super casual and breezy this month because time is an ever elusive thing. Agricola is my next 3d print insert project because that will 100% improve the setup/upkeep and get it to the table more often. #bgstats
