The color bit is definitely what gives away the fox aspect though I want to try a more versatile approach to go on visuals with their own palette. A thin white "wire"-like appearance for an icon feels great for that but it comes with many drawbacks such as the limitations we are dealing with.

2, 3 and 5 look more like cats.
1 and 6 are the strongest "fox-like" ones.
4 while being only different from 3 by the size of the eye gives a more "fox" feeling to me. The way our brain fill the gap is so fascinating!
Low res fox heads study in a 3x6 table table, featuring different style of drawing each column and each row different shading.
13x13 seems a good starting point, let's see if I manage to go lower.
Now I do think that there is some sort of spectrum where a fox starts looking more like a cat the simpler it gets. The simpler the shape of a pointed-ear animal gets, the more it looks like a most "common" subject, here a cat.
That's definitely not me trying to justify myself from getting distracted drawing a new signature for my social posts
Living the dream life is being able to say "yes today I will try to draw some fox at the lowest res possible"
That's definitely a me problem, Aseprite is great I'm just using it poorly.
Days since I crashed my computer due to Aseprite using too much RAM: 0
I also made a carrd, you can find all my links here~ Might as well make a new pinned post for the occasion! I could make a dedicated art to go with it that way it can be pretty :p

Also hey it's been a while! So far it's one of the best start of the year freelance-wise for me :D
I tried to decentralize my art on other websites, I find it easier to display your portfolio over there.

Joyeux anniversaire Kéké !! 🎉
It's almost ready, windows+linux compatibility I just need to make a proper showcase post for it!
Good stuff!! Great use of the restricted space. :)
I slept way too much on Aseprite's spritesheet feature this could have saved me hundred of hours for showcase purpose. Working on personal art comes in clutch to make my commission work easier for the near future.
Such a pretty scene. Love it
Banger incoming
It's such a fun coincidence yes haha. Thanks for the tip ka li!

Excellent!! J'ai un peu du mal avec ces nouveaux starters au niveau du design mais avec ton style ça les rend adorables!!
Lets just all become bunnies in the sky and call it a day
Making sure every pixel is at its right place, the key is not to exceed 2 pixels per day, otherwise you might overdo it!
History of the versions for the Rowlet illustration posted above, from early 2016 to late 2025. 5 iterations.
Managed to squeeze this artwork down to 25 colors!
It's also an update of an old artwork, almost 10 years old!! Time really flies. Never give up!
