Idk what everyone is fussing about with the stock market today.
Loved reading it! Is there any school of thought in the Indian MoF that sees a role for itself as helping smaller states stand up to China? Or are the economic ties just way more important ?
Can only recommend the newest edition of Lunch with the FT featuring Jake Sullivan delving deep into export controls, Ukraine and Gaza as well as some personal issues.

How is his French ?
This afternoon, CDU Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz gave a keynote speech on foreign and EU policy at @koerberip.bsky.social.
A thread on his main points on the EU and Germany's role in it:
Was there any reflection on German industry’s “dependence/subservience” to China? And also were there any concrete plans regarding economic security? Thanks :)
Yes we’re are in deep shit, however the only party with a policy proposal on this issue (FDP) can’t bring itself to jump over its debt limit and which limits its ability to address all the other problems!
Who’s more likely to restrict questions? Tories or Labour under Starmer?
Note - there is no actual evidence I've seen that standards for military occupational specialties (as opposed to basic army fitness tests) including ground combat have been lowered, as Hegseth has repeatedly alleged. www.economist.com/leaders/2025...

@andriuskubilius.ec.europa.eu!
Must follow for anyone interested in European security - and how we defend Europe!
Yeah really interesting but same here I guess you get in the habit of forming sentences a certain type of way!
How do you notice it? Because I pretty much do the same
It’s a fantastic piece, although I would slightly disagree with @guychazan.bsky.social the Tacheles is better than people say :)
I have since finished the book and while I do stand by my wish for more consideration of the CCP’s political objectives, it is an excellent read and I can only suggest it to anyone wishing to know more about China.
Currently reading “The New China Playbook”, excellent overview of the Chinese economy. Yet while nuanced in general, Beijing’s political objectives linked to its economic rise seem to be left out of the analysis. Any other thoughts?
"I was told about the ill feelings these senior DI officers had over the disputes in the mid-1980s over the extent of Soviet military capabilities ... Against their objections, CIA analysts proceeded to overestimate Soviet military capabilities." tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Do you think this could lead to a PM from the socialistes ? Maybe even Hollande?
Hey quick question what do DI and DO stand for? Thanks
