I’ve been watching #CanadaReads this week. So far I’m surprised the romance book has survived. I think there was some strategic voting today.
I’ve only read The Cure for Drowning and Searching for Terry Punchout (liked both) so far but would like to get to them all.

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.
I just started watching hockey a month ago. Kept seeing so much PWHL content. And yes I do have game on while I’m working from home.
Hockey is better when it's girls.

The only thing I didn’t like about the #pwhl game (Sceptres vs Goldeneyes) at Scotiabank Arena was the horrendous HOT-TO-GO remix. Had to cover my ears it hurt! Oh, and the $17 drinks sucked too.
In Toronto for the PWHL game (early bday present to myself). I haven’t decided who I’m cheering for but it feels nice seeing all the people in Sceptres merch.

Governments who want less data want to make policy based on vibes and not facts.
I watched the first ep of Starfleet Academy yesterday & I’m still hung up on why regulation hair for Caleb means short hair when the Klingon gets to keep his long (& so do human women).
Sometimes I avoid buying snacks on purpose thinking if I really want something I’ll make it myself. Usually backfires & I spend extra at corner store.
But last night, I actually baked cookies - chewy oatmeal! I really should do it myself more often.
I binged watched all of Stranger Things these past 2 weeks and finished the series tonight.
I really dig Nancy’s Rambo style in the finale. 🔥

Making my 55-yr old partner watch Mulan (1998). I was listening to “The Night Ends with Fire”, a Mulan inspired fantasy, and he kept interrupting to ask basic Mulan questions.
They do have the joint BBA/BCS program with Laurier. I wonder how much of a factor that is.
Tried to use up all the veg from the CSA box this week. Roasted beets, turnip, carrots and potatoes.
I dare say, I almost like beets! Still not a fan of turnip though.
