Cardinal Tobin stressed the importance of the reading of Luke 18:9-14 in the Lenten season, as Jesus addressed in The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, reminding us that, “everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” (3/3)
He reflected on the shared Christ-centered themes between Pope Francis and Pope Leo, such as mercy, evangelization, and synodality. Cardinal Tobin reminded the audience of the importance of Pope Leo’s first words, “La pace sia con tutti voi!” (Peace be with you!), in the promotion of peace. (2/3)
Thank you to Cardinal Joseph Tobin, C..Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, for giving a talk on “Pope Leo and the Legacy of Pope Francis” and celebrating Mass at Seton Hall. (1/3)
Cardinal Tobin just gave a nice talk at Seton Hall comparing what he knew of Francis's papal agenda with what he is seeing in Leo's so far, but he finished it with good advice: please read/listen to them in their own words *first*, before turning to pundits.
