In these dark, sad, enraging times, we must turn to poetry, to music, to arts in all its manifestations. We must write and cook and dance all while imagining what is possible in radical hope. We must love as we fight, strategize, and organize. The world necessitates beauty and struggle. #resist
I'm informed that there are only a few slots available for my Jane's Walk offering this year which is an abbreviated version of our Black Women of Harlem walking tour. It will be on Saturday May 2 at 11 am. It's free to sign up: www.mas.org/events/radic...
You’re most likely the one called to build the community you crave and can’t find.
Si si. Ese junte viene
Beautiful.
Just got a chance to finally meet Marlene Daut in person. What a beautiful human being! Incredible scholar. And Alex, you’re the best. Love you both.
And if we want to feel hope in these dark times, read Ada Limón’s “Against Breaking”. It’s devastating and beautiful.
More on the Trump-Hegseth DOD cruel treatment of serving military, especially Navy. Most who serve are in their continued growth years. Imagine how hungry they are while the pigs at MaraLardo gorge themselves.

I secured some funding last year to revive the Stevie Wilson DIY Young Artists Residency. I’m excited to announce that applications are open today until May 11 for young artists (ages 16-24) directly impacted by criminalization, policing, or punishment.
Everyone going to LASA this year because it’s in Paris. Decolonize that. 🤣😂😜
Today was the last of meeting of our faculty-graduate seminar on global blackness. We close with the incredible Marlene Daut. The year long series included scholars of Black Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. We learned so much together. Thank you! aas.princeton.edu/events/2026/...
Don’t let capitalism keep
you so busy and so in debt that you don’t have time to
live. Resisting requires rest. Organizing requires time.
Also I’m not suggesting the religion is wrong. I’m
Pointing at the contradictions.
But there is so many of them!!!
All predators should resign. Starting with the boss…

“The pope should be careful
When talking theology.” Said the Catholic Politician. What’s next? “God should be careful when being God.” Not my religion but sounds dumb as fuck.

Ha taciuto su un genocidio;
Ha chiamato legittimo l'intervento in Venezuela;
Non ha condannato l'aggressione criminale all'Iran;
Non si è scomposta per i dazi;
Non ha votato per il cessate il fuoco o per il riconoscimento della Palestina; poi è arrivato il referendum.

While parts of Sudan's capital show fragile signs of life, across the country the conflict between the army and a rival paramilitary continues to drive mass displacement, hunger and allegations of atrocities. n.pr/4cc67g7
I grew up in a very religious Christian home (I’m not religious now). I have a very hard time understanding how Christians reconcile their faith and values with the actions of this government. How can you justify the hate, the destruction? Can they really say this is what Jesus would do? 😒🙄

I found this picture of my dad reading my first book, a few years before the stroke that has had him on a persistent comma state, here but not here, for two years now. I cried for an entire hour. Tears of joy, of grief, of longing. It’s a strange thing to be grieving a parent who is still here. 💔
We (global south people who come from legacies of dictatorships supported by US via school or Americas) have been saying this. Want to understand? Read up on Chile and Pinochet

The state of Tennessee is planning to execute Tony Carruthers for a crime he didn’t commit, all because they refuse to carry out DNA and fingerprint testing from the scene of the crime.
