Not sure anymore, I already had some things as I’ve been creating since 2019. The teleprompter, camera and lens were second hand. I’d say somewhere around 1K for the complete setup!

No, you don't need to wait to start an email list
No, you don't need to wait to start an email list Do any of these sound familiar?- I wouldn’t even know where to start or what to send.- I don’t have enough followers, so it’s not worth it yet.- I don’t have...

Watch my latest YouTube video to learn all about the system I use to send 2–3 emails a week in just 2 hours: https://buff.ly/3BaYbw0

2. People overcomplicate email marketing.
I used to do that too—it’s easy to get overwhelmed by aaall the strategies.
We stress it will be too time-consuming. We think it’s something only "advanced" creators can pull off. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

1. The ultimate goal of building an email list isn’t selling.
It's creating a direct line of communication with the people in your audience who need you the most. The selling (and buying) part is just a natural consequence of that.

That soul-crushing feeling when you’ve just spent your Saturday evening doing the revisions for your upcoming YouTube video, and the file with all the notes for the editor just poof disappears 😭

My name is Marta Tarallo, and my alter ego is Marta Mille: she is who I want to be, free from any preconceptions I hold about myself. Your insecurities are part of your story and have shaped your journey, but every day, you get to choose to park them temporarily and show up as Superman instead.

We already are Superman. But everyday we choose to live like Clark Kent. An alter ego can be the key to unlocking your innermost strength and potential, allowing you to show up as the ā€œSupermanā€ version of yourself in your business.

As I was listening to the audiobook I had to stop, think and take a deep breath. Oh my. It suddenly dawn on me. What if the person we think we are, with all our fears, insecurities and preconceptions about how much we can achieve in this world…is just an identity we’ve created for ourselves?

Most people would say that Superman is the alter ego - obviously we think of alter egos as something powerful we aspire to become.

But that's wrong - the alter ego is Clark Kent. Superman created it to blend in and study other humans on earth.

ā€œEveryone knows that Superman and Clark Kent are the same. But which one is the alter ego?ā€

Thank you Viyaaz! Oh yes and being concise is so important - definitely something I’m constantly striving to improve. I love how Bluesky is literally forcing me to be more concise with the 300 words limit šŸ’Ŗ

That’s all right! I guess that’s what I meant. I need people to remember it and be able to type if if they search for my content - Tarallo just isn’t as easy ā˜ŗļø

Mille is a soft sounding word and I love the meaning it carries (thousand). It’s easier to remember and spell than Tarallo (not Tralla šŸ˜‰) It’s a powerful alter-ego I’ve chosen for my new personal brand. I’ll share more about it soon šŸ™‚ really appreciate the feedback!

Ok this was super helpful, thanks for taking the time šŸ™‚

Thank you so much for your feedback Alice! My audience is mostly in the US. Mille means 1000 in Italian and it’s a soft sounding word with a powerful meaning, which goes well with my first name. I’m a content and personal brand strategist. I like how exotic it sounds compared to for example ā€˜Mill’…

as in mee-leh or me-lee? @hayescreativesolutions.com thanks for the feedback!

I’m considering rebranding into a name that’s more memorable/easier to spell than my very Italian surname.

There’s another reason too though and I’ll share about that tomorrow.

Question: would you intuitively read the word ā€˜MILLE’ as ā€˜MILL’ or would you wonder how to pronounce it correctly?

Hey Kevon would love to check out the book šŸ™‚

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Absolutely - or else you end up just viewing it as a chore and I see many people ghosting their list/being inconsistent for this reason (ehm, I did too in the past)

Mindset shift to make email marketing effortless:

replace the word ā€˜newsletter’ with ā€˜message.’

Instead of thinking, ā€˜I have to write the weekly newsletter—what do I even talk about?’

Think: ā€˜what message do I want to share today that will help someone and move my business forward?’

I used to overthink content creation and get stuck on what to share/on which platforms until I’ve realised that content is ā€˜fluid’ - where you post it only affects the format. What truly matters is the message you share. Always start there, the rest is just a consequence.

Message > Medium

YouTube content creation gear and set up

I always wonder what set up people use to create content, it’s just something I find so personal and for some reason fascinating. Here’s my YouTube channel set up. The camera is in the teleprompter. Today was a video about email marketing (coming out next week)!
