Right now only YouTube and BlueSky but considering adding Threadsā¦maaaybe IG at some point. Oh and emails. How about you?
Not sure anymore, I already had some things as Iāve been creating since 2019. The teleprompter, camera and lens were second hand. Iād say somewhere around 1K for the complete setup!
Watch my latest YouTube video to learn all about the system I use to send 2ā3 emails a week in just 2 hours: https://buff.ly/3BaYbw0
2. People overcomplicate email marketing.
I used to do that tooāitās easy to get overwhelmed by aaall the strategies.
We stress it will be too time-consuming. We think itās something only "advanced" creators can pull off. But that couldnāt be further from the truth.
1. The ultimate goal of building an email list isnāt selling.
It's creating a direct line of communication with the people in your audience who need you the most. The selling (and buying) part is just a natural consequence of that.
2 things I learned from 5 years of email marketing:
That soul-crushing feeling when youāve just spent your Saturday evening doing the revisions for your upcoming YouTube video, and the file with all the notes for the editor just poof disappears š
Thank you. In the process. Itās a nice read with lots of actionable points, highly recommend it!
If you could have an alter-ego, who would it be? For more content on activating a truly standout personal brand sign up to my email list. I send 2-3 messages a week like this that will take you less than 1 minute to read: martatarallo.myflodesk.com/bluesky
My name is Marta Tarallo, and my alter ego is Marta Mille: she is who I want to be, free from any preconceptions I hold about myself. Your insecurities are part of your story and have shaped your journey, but every day, you get to choose to park them temporarily and show up as Superman instead.
We already are Superman. But everyday we choose to live like Clark Kent. An alter ego can be the key to unlocking your innermost strength and potential, allowing you to show up as the āSupermanā version of yourself in your business.
As I was listening to the audiobook I had to stop, think and take a deep breath. Oh my. It suddenly dawn on me. What if the person we think we are, with all our fears, insecurities and preconceptions about how much we can achieve in this worldā¦is just an identity weāve created for ourselves?
Most people would say that Superman is the alter ego - obviously we think of alter egos as something powerful we aspire to become.
But that's wrong - the alter ego is Clark Kent. Superman created it to blend in and study other humans on earth.
Todd Herman book the Alter Ego Effect
āEveryone knows that Superman and Clark Kent are the same. But which one is the alter ego?ā

Thank you Viyaaz! Oh yes and being concise is so important - definitely something Iām constantly striving to improve. I love how Bluesky is literally forcing me to be more concise with the 300 words limit šŖ
Thatās all right! I guess thatās what I meant. I need people to remember it and be able to type if if they search for my content - Tarallo just isnāt as easy āŗļø
Mille is a soft sounding word and I love the meaning it carries (thousand). Itās easier to remember and spell than Tarallo (not Tralla š) Itās a powerful alter-ego Iāve chosen for my new personal brand. Iāll share more about it soon š really appreciate the feedback!
Ok this was super helpful, thanks for taking the time š
Thank you so much for your feedback Alice! My audience is mostly in the US. Mille means 1000 in Italian and itās a soft sounding word with a powerful meaning, which goes well with my first name. Iām a content and personal brand strategist. I like how exotic it sounds compared to for example āMillāā¦
as in mee-leh or me-lee? @hayescreativesolutions.com thanks for the feedback!
Iām considering rebranding into a name thatās more memorable/easier to spell than my very Italian surname.
Thereās another reason too though and Iāll share about that tomorrow.
Question: would you intuitively read the word āMILLEā as āMILLā or would you wonder how to pronounce it correctly?
Hey Kevon would love to check out the book š
Absolutely - or else you end up just viewing it as a chore and I see many people ghosting their list/being inconsistent for this reason (ehm, I did too in the past)
Mindset shift to make email marketing effortless:
replace the word ānewsletterā with āmessage.ā
Instead of thinking, āI have to write the weekly newsletterāwhat do I even talk about?ā
Think: āwhat message do I want to share today that will help someone and move my business forward?ā
I used to overthink content creation and get stuck on what to share/on which platforms until Iāve realised that content is āfluidā - where you post it only affects the format. What truly matters is the message you share. Always start there, the rest is just a consequence.

YouTube content creation gear and set up
I always wonder what set up people use to create content, itās just something I find so personal and for some reason fascinating. Hereās my YouTube channel set up. The camera is in the teleprompter. Today was a video about email marketing (coming out next week)!
Challenging myself to try out Bluesky for the next 90 days to share casual, short updates on my building in public journey & connect with other creators/marketers.
My other goal? Get over my perfectionist tendencies and get comfortable posting āunfinishedā work š¤
