brownstargirl.org/in-defense-o... from 2023 written by @cyreejarelle.bsky.social and I, still true. Unfortunately prescient.
"But who benefits when no gesture is enough unless we win forever that day? Who benefits when everyone is so afraid that trying means nothing--what can one do then but not try?"
another banger from @cyreejarelle.bsky.social ❤️🔥
thanks for sharing and for your twee— or is it called a post on bs? idk im new here.
either way, i’m curious about these feelings-based responses to these crises.
my stance is that i can feel all my feels, however unhelpful, and still take considered action.
As usual @cyreejarelle.bsky.social writes in a deeply grounding way about the important things and I think I wrote this around the same time as reading this piece:

should everyone who can join a movement org? yeah, probably!
but most of those orgs aren’t really ready to meet people where they’re at—so can we blame folks for staying home?
new substack for folk burned by an org who need help coming back into alignment:
thanks for reading 🙏🏽
NGL. I wouldn’t loved if Dot had used this whole debacle to advocate for child survivors of SA. @cyreejarelle.bsky.social made a point a while back about how OFF it is that the song of the summer was making light of a very serious crime and stain on society.
I am slowly getting better at unrhymed iambic pentameter. It would seem like it's the easiest meter, and it *is* sort of the easiest to, like, minimally carry out, but it's might be the hardest to be actually good at, I think. Nowhere to hide

Recently, I saw all the men’s underwear in Target were locked up and just burst out laughing. It’s wild.
I think the long term goal is to drive us away from in-person shopping all together. They’re turn old stores into Amazon-like warehouses.

*and* it relies upon the developmental presentations of autism because that’s what requires the earliest understanding from parents so the child gets what they need.
so when we discount those presentations or act like those who don’t have them are uniquely oppressed by them is disingenuous.
this is especially important to me while autistic people, both children and adults are such a prominent feature on the list during Disability Day of Mourning.
It’s still legal to torture autistic kids. childhood dx isn’t a privilege.
there’s this growing assumption online that these stereotypes exclusively apply to yt boys.
you’ll find that many autistics who were diagnosed in childhood exhibit these same traits.
or—what if we center autistics who these stereotypes render a target instead of prioritizing the broad idea of validity for once?
a nyt writer was defending the revolting CM piece saying the author is ‘a kid.’ curious how that logic gets applied to a 29 yo man but not a 17 yo girl
estranged people interacting with other peoples’ families over the holidays should be allowed a soundproof crying room
Rupi Kuar—unlike many Pulitzer or NBA-winning poets—has actually takes a stand against genocide. She is more of a real poet and writer than a lot of clowns published by Faber or teaching in the Ivy League because she takes the role of public intellect seriously. Most writers now act like ad salesmen
