Some corpses have been taken by the Viveren, brought into the crypts, and attempted to be tested on spiritually, trying to figure out what has caused this.

Not all animals are effected the same, some manage to get home, others left to face their own demise as predators are eating the prey that have the poison in their blood. Prey not able to defend themselves, causing the corpse rate to increase across the forest floor.

Their bodies have no visible effect of this poison, leaving the locals confused and not sure why the animals are weak on their own legs.

An alien poison has made its way into waters of the forest: Novell Partum. Animals are the first to react, as they are not reaching their own homes, having ran out of energy and simply falling to the ground, panting, and bathing under the sunlight, or moonlight, until someone finds them.
