I have no intention or desire to see the Michael Jackson movie, but I do need to know if it addresses CAPTAIN EO at all.

I got a survey this morning from my visit earlier this week specifically asking about Toon Lagoon. I, of course, gave it top marks across the board.
Me, sitting at a table in Toon Lagoon at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The table has a painted backdrop featuring comic strip characters Nancy and Sluggo sipping a milkshake. A word balloon behind them reads “SLURP”.
Name another theme park that prominently features Nancy and Sluggo. I’ll wait.
I think the existence of The Clone Wars forced them to acknowledge the tiered canon hierarchy since that broke with a lot of the prequel era EU.
Anyone who remembers the tiered canon system would never make this claim.
NANCY BY ERNIE BUSHMILLER P1- SLUGGO IS WALKING DOWN THE STREET AND HE SEES A POSTED NOTICE… THIS IS BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK P2-LATER NANCY SEES SLUGGO FISHING DOWN BY THE RIVER NANCY: SLUGGO!--- YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF P3- NANCY: DON'T YOU KNOW THIS IS BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK"? Finally caught up with this, and it’s a pretty good breakdown of both the overblown claim that ALADDIN plagiarized THIEF AND THE COBBLER and the truth that—despite being a technical marvel—Richard Williams’ movie was probably never going to be a success, even if it was ever finished.
Everyone’s been raising the alarm over there being too many Democrats in the CA governor’s race and the potential for a split vote to lead to a Republican lock-in. Seems like dropping the guy who’s been credibly accused of sexual misconduct is a no-brainer call.
Glaring similarities between “well let’s not be rash. If and when a court convicts him of sexual assault, then he should drop out of the race for CA governor.”
and
“well let’s not be rash. Can you prove that he knew it was a Nazi tattoo at the time and that he is still a Nazi?”
Watching crime 101 and I feel like it was a failure of research to make it a plot point that a senior LAPD detective is poor because he’s a public servant
True Detective. Matthew McConaughey as Detective Rustin "Rust" Cohle. He is taking a hard drag from a cigarette. He’s been edited to be lying on his side with a pillow under his head and a phone in his hand.
i love my morning ritual
The rest of the season is exploring the tension between Mando being tasked with finding the Jedi to return Grogu to his kind while also coming to realize the importance of bond they’ve created. The final moments of the season create an emotional dissonance that feels clumsy rather than intentional.
Bringing Luke into this story was always going to be an impossibly tricky task, but making him a digital golem who can’t emote means his ability to play off these characters is limited. On top of that, ending the season with a huge swell of triumphant music as Mando and Baby are separated feels bad.
Been rewatching THE MANDALORIAN before the new movie. The thing about season two is that it’s actually really good and some of the most fun STAR WARS has ever been, but the last 15 minutes after Luke shows up is so disastrously miscalculated that it leaves you with the sourest taste in your mouth.
That's going to be a pretty short book.

I'm sure there are earlier examples of this phenomenon, but one that sticks out in my memory is when a certain category of fans absolutely melted down over CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR because it gave Cap a romantic interest who was not Bucky Barnes.
Sure, nobody actually enforces AMC’s no phones policy, but theoretically it’s still the rule. Crazy that Alamo Drafthouse of all chains would break the seal on explicitly endorsing phone use during a movie.
A very astute (and upsetting!) piece that touches on four scary cultural trends: 1) The demand for spelled-out moral clarity in stories 2) A growing inability to understand different types of narratives 3) The "customer's always right" version of fandom 4) The growth of fandom as a social identity.
Last time I saw a movie at Drafthouse was in November when they were testing mobile order. At the time, the model was order with your phone before the movie, then use pen and paper during the movie. I assumed that’s how it would be going forward.
Well, time to eat my words, I guess. This sucks.
people on here will post anything. “ella mccay was right about everything.” no she wasn’t. that isn’t true
I’m not caught up, but my girlfriend likes this show a lot, and there are some truly inspired stupid jokes in it. There’s a running gag in—I think—the fourth episode about a TV show called “FDNY: Chicago”.
I don't have a lot of specific dirt, but it sounds like generally Lasseter is a pretty catastrophically bad studio head and also petty and vindictive. Apparently John had a temper tantrum when Disney announced Bird was writing INCREDIBLES 3.
I'm not super well-connected, but from the little I've heard, Bird signed a deal with the devil to get this movie made (following his disgraced, sex pest buddy John to Skydance), and has subsequently endured hell making it. Wonder if he thinks it was worth it.
vance is so personally off putting that even foreign electorates want nothing to do with him
What is it with Jeff Bezos trying to get people to piss in plastic bottles?
This is a garbage read because "When the “woke” mania swept the country in 2020"? No such thing happened, you fell for an op. You quickly and readily believed conspiratorial nonsense because it was about people you already hated, and you still believe nonsense so you learned nothing from this.
Shull is a doofus and so I don't take any of this seriously, but if Avatar gets replaced with Zootopia, I will become The Joker.
How are we supposed to get anything done today?
pretty clear bright line today, anyone in power who isn't doing everything they can to remove him from office deserves handcuffs when this is all over. that includes any democrat who votes for anything he wants
I’m generally a big fan of LFL’s animated works and have seen all of THE CLONE WARS and REBELS, but the Maul stuff has never landed for me.
