Media should stop saying Israel is “demolishing” villages in Lebanon. It’s misleading.

The accurate term is ethnic cleansing.

Rather than focus on today’s heavy rainstorm, we prefer to recall (a few days ago!) when our skunk, Tux, was enjoying the sunshine! 🦨🌞☀️

The edible gravel in my neighbor's driveway tastes awful. He keeps telling me "stop eating that, it's not edible". What kind of edible gravel isn't edible?

Keir Starmer actually put this in a briefing to Labour MPs of 'useful questions to ask' today. The PM knew of Mandelson's relationship Epstein when he appointed him.

And yet thinks he can still exploit the grief of the victims. This is why he is not fit to be Prime Minister.

A frame from Godzilla vs Destoroyah (1995).
A man and a woman look out of a helicopter window, their faces illuminated by an orange light. They have looks of shock and amazement, no, awe on their faces.
The caption reads, "It's so large."
And listen, I'm not really proud of this one. But I had to do it. I randomly landed on this frame and had to post it. Sorry.

Not pictured: Godzilla; Destoroyah; whatever is so large but go ahead and use your imagination

Kenneth: Napoleon is the most expensive brandy in the world. If you were a millionaire you couldn't find a better brandy, sir. There are only 12 bottles in the country

Tony: Is that alright, Sid?

Sid: Yeah, that'll do. Put some ginger beer in it mate, let's have a bit of taste!

this is it right here. AI violates Vonnegut's number 1 rule for writers: "Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted." AI shifts the burden of effort from the writer onto the reader/audience and that is unacceptable

A Neolithic well bucket made of lime bast and a willow handle, dating back some 7000 years ago.
Lime bast fibre is a strong and flexible inner bark of a lime (linden) tree that was, for example, used to make textiles or ropes.
Found in a well in Eythra, dating 5100-5000 BC. 🧵1/2

Castle onslaught in IVANHOE (1913). IMP (which was in the process of becoming Universal) shipped out to Wales and borrowed both Chepstow Castle and local talent to stage an enthusiastic siege.

Ink drawing with pencil colours on white paper. White sky, Banks of grey cloud on the horizon. Full, grey moon high in the sky. The ground is flat land for what looks like miles around, and is grey/green, red, dark yellow, black and brown striped. Not immediately obvious, but the moon's shadow is directly under it on the ground, raising all sorts of questions I will not be taking. Over on the left, and quite far away from us, a building. A music venue! The whole building is grey. The ground floor features the doorway and round windows either side. Above this is a sign: "tonight's live band STRIX ALUCO AGOGO. 8 TIL LATE! (11 o'clock)". Above this, the next storey up is wider than the ground floor, in which we see a window with yellow light and a crowd inside. Presumably the gig. In the sky, over on the right and far away, three birds fly.
