Remember when the internet wasn't awful? We can go back to that.
Some friends and I have released the Resonant Computing Manifesto: a call to bring back such a time, to see if we can bring back a world where technology works for us, rather than against us.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.
Don't look up!
AT LAST! And a big congrats. You get to join the ranks of Perez, Jimenez and all the other greats!

“No, Speaker Johnson — the No Kings rally on October 18 is not a hate America rally. In fact, it’s quite the contrary: It’s a love America rally.” #NoKings
Just a reminder that Wikipedia is the only remaining reliable source of information that right wing billionaires can't control. (Although they'll never stop trying.)

I may have created a new term.
Worksloppage (noun): The phenomenon where productivity actually halts or decreases because you're spending time sorting through, editing, or fixing AI-generated content rather than creating original work. A portmanteau of "work" + "slop" + "stoppage."

"Last year, more than 90 percent of wind and solar projects commissioned worldwide produced power more cheaply than the cheapest available fossil-fuel alternative."
Here’s just a few drops that brewed up in this week’s Espresso Shots: designing a life from scratch, acting on sparks of inspiration, a patchwork of role models, and savoring the analog charm of tiny vinyl. #storytelling #leadership #til

Third in line for the presidency, can marshal the votes of the bicameral congressional majority to pass just about any bill.

Your J. Jonah Jameson phase! Looking good and ornery.
Oh, this is very cool — assume I can install via BRAT? Do wish Obsidian also had iOS Widget support. I have also used @bearnotesapp.bsky.social and they have a lovely random note widget (with the ability to target a specific tag). This has come in wildly handy in resurfacing notes on mobile.
Best of luck. Have never had a problem with Obsidian Sync.
Bearded Martin Sheen always scared me.
That turned out pretty accurate! Hope you are doing well — missed following you back when I was on X/Twitter (long left now), and cam across you here. You still posting? Curious where you might be sharing stuff these days. Take care!
Congrats to @johnonolan.bsky.social and the team at @ghost.org on their 12th birthday!
Here's John's post reflecting on the idea behind the product, some of the incredible indie publishers who have adopted it (including @404media.co & @caseynewton.bsky.social) and what's next.

Pete Hegseth in 2016: "How damaging is it to your ability to recruit or build allies with others when they are worried that our leaders may be exposing them because of their gross negligence or their recklessness in handling information?"
Minnesota has launched a new tool to track federal funding cuts that affect services ranging from heating assistance and flood mitigation to tracking diseases.
I'd really like better coverage of protest numbers from yesterday. I'm seeing estimates of 1 to 5 million, but then news headlines that say "thousands protest across America." Please update with your city info if you have a published estimate: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
Trump tried to illegally remove the head of the FEC and she told him she's not leaving until it's done legally. This is an abhorrent headline from Bloomberg. It's disinformation.
The ordinary questions you might ask: Is Elon Musk a government employee? Are his lieutenants? Does he personally hold a security clearance and do his “lieutenants”? Have they all undergone a background check? Are they subject to foreign influence? Have they ever done a sieg heil on stage?
Uh, I use @bearnotesapp.bsky.social and == is the method I use for highlights.
@chrislhayes.bsky.social Just wanted to say how much I loved your interview with Ezra Klein. Absolutely fantastic and the deep, but meta — “what the hell is going on here” — discussion I had been hoping for. Reading your book now, which is fantastic. Thanks much!
Lmao getting rid of a corruption charge through corruption
Yeah, how about not dissolving the air safety advisory commission at the FAA. As your team did last week.
