My latest theory is that it's wind-related.
Oh, thank you!! That's very helpful!

I am trying to forestall this by worrying about everything, especially at 2 a.m.
The delicious kind
I wish I had three donuts.
Yeah... it's just hard to catch these things while they're happening, and my parents tend to just think I'm too anxious, so. No easy answers! Such is life!
Sounds expensive but rational!
Part of the thing with this condo is that no matter how many things go wrong, and there have been a lot, it maintains a very good, homey vibe. It doesn't feel malevolently haunted, at least. I'm thinking of it like a rescue house that wants to love me but has a lot of issues.
It's a bit over 40 years old and not in great shape... but part of the problem is I don't know who to call. Like, is it structural? Electrical? Plumbing? 🤷♀️
So my bathroom ceiling is not randomly creaking
Thank you, I appreciate that
You can't exactly invite a friend over to smell your walls, you know?
"Are these socks wet or just cold?" I trust none of my own senses. I live in uncertainty.

Also if you live alone and you want a hug, there is no one to give you a hug. You just have to cuddle the cat, which is not the same. The cat doesn't know what's going on.
If you live with a partner, it's not *entirely* your fault if the house burns down.
There are all kinds of Horrors that come with buying a house for anyone, but the particular thing with buying a house as a single person is you have no one to ask questions like, "do you smell that smell?" and "is that a noise we should worry about?"

It IS uncanny! That's such an interesting take on it!
Every superhero is a metaphor that fights other metaphors of the same clade
The Flash is a physics, who fights other physics (mirrors, aerodynamics, cold). Superman is a god, who fights other gods. That’s so good, but Batman is a fear who fights other fears. That’s always the easiest match to sell.

I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again

This question is too hard! I'd need to make my own "100 greatest" list. Or at least 50ish
Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
It's really tough to balance your own writing style with how it might be perceived. I'm having to grapple with that now at work. "I know we love em-dashes, but maybe we could use *fewer* em-dashes..." And then being mad at yourself for thinking it
At least half in the biggest size
Perhaps that IS the experiment
I would need 40 suitcases
:( I hope you feel better soon!
