Was having a conversation with Abigail today, and we pretty much came to the conclusion that believing in god is violence against women.
The idea that god created women’s bodies to essentially have a default level of pain as a punishment, or whatever, is incredibly fucked up.

I love how people think we are the product of intelligent design and part of that design is that we accidentally shart.
Like, I’m no genius, but if I were making something in my image and that happened to me (apparently god does shart in this scenario), then I would not include that in my version 2.
Holy shit! I hope he is ok now. 😬
We’re talking about circumcision this week on our podcast (D&C 74), and someone brought up how ridiculous it is that people believe god made baby boys with a foreskin that needs to immediately be cut off.
Design so intelligent it needs to be altered immediately.
Of course! I love meeting people with such a unique shared experience.
If you ever want to tell it in a podcast format once you have all of your thoughts out on your blog, we do special episodes called “High On A Mountain Top” where we get high and have people tell us their stories. You’re more than welcome if you’re interested.
I’m interested to read your story. It’s always interesting to see what it is with each person that finally breaks their shelf.
It was, allegedly, the story of biblical Jews that left a record in a hill in New York and is a non-fictional tale of their journey to America and their time there.
The gold plates, though returned to the angel Moroni, had 8 witnesses say they saw them and that Joseph translated them into the Book of Mormon.
It was, allegedly, the story of the mound builders (Hopewell) who left a record in one of those mounds and was a fictional tale of their journey to America and their time there.
The Solomon Spalding manuscript, though lost, had many eyewitness accounts say that it had striking similarities to the Book of Mormon including characters named Nephi and Lehi and phrases like “it came to pass”.
This week our episode Disney Rigdon (open.spotify.com/episode/1cUC...) talks about the Spalding Manuscript. Which made me wonder which is more believable?

If you guys don’t know about the Ezra Booth letters, then allow me to direct you to our latest episode where we talk all about them.

Also, here is a relevant meme for your enjoyment:
That’s literally insane
I used to think, right after leaving the church, that people were exaggerating when they said the world would be a better place without religion, but after learning more and more about religion I think they were right.
What the fuck?! The leaders of the church should really memorize ALL their articles of faith and practice them like they tell their members to.
Ooooo I haven’t heard about mission president compensation. Do you have a link that I could read about it?
I just recently learned about why the Venezuelan mission really got shut down.
Definitely an interesting read if you have the time. The level of fraud in another country that the church committed is insane and likely where trafficking allegations come from.

I just found another reason intelligent design doesn’t actually seem all that intelligent.
What fucking psychopath “intelligent designer” makes a body that creates zits inside the ear?!
At best god is an asshole in this situation.
Ever wanted to know the history of hell? Well whether you wanted to or not this week you can learn all about it in the history segment. We also talk about Susan Bednar’s husband a little too…

Has anyone else noticed that almost every section of D&C basically starts with, “You need to be scared of the lord and making him mad at you, because you will be tortured and in eternal pain if you do anything other than what Joe tells you.”
Who had to say the prayer at a Christmas meal this year like @gr8andspacious.bsky.social? Tell me your story and how awkward/traumatic it was.
And here I am also feeling the spirit from it 🤣
If you screw up and accidentally yell “Jesus!” while visiting your TBM families this Christmas, don’t worry. Just continue yelling “lord at thy birth!”, and avoid an awkward conversation about taking the lord’s name in vain.
Follow me for more fun holiday tips.
This week on a very mildly Christmas themed episode we talk about Satan and his power over the water, where the idea of Satan comes from, how it is firmly only Mormon lore that he was Jesus’s brother, and how he bares a small resemblance to Santa.

Did you guys know that Jacob Hamblin is the person that unknowingly directed the victims of the Mountain Meadows Massacre to the location where they were killed?
We learned all about him for this week’s episode, and also some other stuff.

It’s honestly so fucked up that in Christianity it’s the “bad” guy that tells you the truth and the “good” guy that lies to you.
PSA: If someone performs a magical or supernatural act, they are either very talented at illusion and sleight of hand or had help to deceive you. The more they try to convince you otherwise the more they have to gain from fooling you. It’s always about money and power and with religion it’s both.
I just had a realization that prayer is just asking a middle man to do something for you.
Forget god, go directly to the source, and get what you need directly.
lol I bet they say that almost verbatim to every young woman. 🤮
