STUBB: We need to turn the tide. This is no longer about giving aid to Ukraine. We have to think about it other way around. Can we afford to keep Ukraine 'outside' — in the sense that they now have greatest military know-how? I hope Americans understand this and see it clearly.

Ukraine is defending Europe against Russia’s imperialist aggression. Imagine how close Russia would be if it controlled all of Ukraine?
So the question that every responsible 🇪🇺leader should ask the Ukrainian president is:
"How can I be of assistance?" NOTHING ELSE!

What is the key difference between Ukraine&Russia?
Russia is a vertical power structure-with a tsar at the top, lackeys beneath, slaves below. In imperial Russia, the individual tends to see themselves as a "subject"rather than a citizen, often displaying a form of learned helplessness toward the state⤵️
Stop praising Orbán for not attempting a coup.
He only stepped down because Magyar's win was too massive to steal.
He rigged the constitution, captured the institutions, and used state media to his advantage.
He did everything he could to destroy democracy, and he failed
🛢️ Russia is on track for another windfall from oil taxes, with Urals crude averaging $106.30 a barrel in the first 13 days of April. Up 42% from March, when prices rose due to Middle East, - Bloomberg.
Shocks have pushed Urals prices well above the $59 a barrel projected in Russia’s 2026 budget.
KALLAS: Russia is executing one of the most outrageous breaches of the international law in the United Nations history by invading a sovereign country and turning its back on its obligations as a Permanent Member of the UN Security Council.

OTD in 1990 Soviet Union admitted that Soviet Union carried out Katyn massacre. These are Soviet documents with Stalin personally approving the murder of 22,000 Poles.
We blame(d) it on the Nazis. We lie(d).
Imagine us committing atrocities today & blaming it on Nazis...
Pope Leo: "I don't look at my role as being political, I don't want to get into a debate with Trump, I don't think that the message of the gospel is meant to be abused in the way that some people are doing. I will continue to speak out loudly against war."
OTD in 1940 USSR began 2nd mass deportation of civilians from Poland's east borderlands occupied by the Soviets on Sept. 17, 1939. There were 4 waves of deportations from Feb 1940 to June 1941, *before* Nazis invaded us, while we were still allies
Imagine this happening today..
Trump posted an image depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick and sharply criticized Pope Leo XIV, accusing him of weakness on crime and backing Iran’s nuclear ambitions. #US
Trump attacked last night Pope Leo for a range of things. I will not dive into this because it is irrelevant. What is really telling is that you can add the Pope Leo to the list of people Trump attacked. However, there is one person that Trump never attacks:
Vladimir Putin
😂😂
Blocking the Strait of Hormuz to unblock the Strait of Hormuz is peak Trump foreign policy.

This flew under the radar: Trump's new acting AG Todd Blanche shut down major DOJ investigations into crypto companies, dealers, and exchanges as Pam Bondi's second-in-command — all while holding at least $159,000 in crypto assets himself.
The fox is guarding the hen house.
APPLEBAUM: Russians aren't winning, despite the absence of United States. Maybe Trump imagined that if the U.S. disappeared, Ukraine would collapse. It didn't collapse. European part of NATO, Ukrainians, and other allies turned out to be very powerful.
It's almost as if Trump is listening to Putin,
Iran sent a team of 30 including university professors, scientists, diplomats, PhDs. The American delegation includes no diplomats, but lots of relatives of Trump and real estate developers. Who's going to get fleeced? www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...

ZELENSKYY: Who destroyed Druzhba oil pipeline? Ukrainians or Russians? Russians. So can there at least be some humanity?
Give signal to Russians not to destroy Ukrainian energy with their missiles. Instead, they keep making accusations. Nevertheless, we will fulfill our duties.
"For other countries, negotiating with a personalist strongman like Trump is a fool’s errand. His decisions aren't deliberate ones taken in conjunction with experts. It’s just his whims and grievances creating international chaos whenever the mood strikes."
Buttigieg: "For the leader of this country to make a nakedly genocidal threat against another civilization as if the US was a death star that was going around blowing up civilizations, of course that is a new low ... the whole country is being judged just for tolerating that kind of thing at the WH"
Russia continues destroying Ukrianian cultural heritage.

😯🇺🇦 Presidential commissioner for sanctions Vladyslav Vlasyuk:
“I think that we will see both Russian and American components there (in the Iranian drones that attacked the Middle Eastern countries) - and this will be especially interesting."
I think we can safely remove the title of “leader of the free world” from the US Presidency now
When it comes to write the history of the last 16 months it will be about the weakness of US institutions to stand up to Trump, but the growing willingness of other states to do so. Trump’s major mistake was thinking the rest of the world was as craven as the GOP.
Kaja Kallas: The Gulf countries haven't helped Europe against Russia, why would Europe help them against Iran?
